A Repertoire of EloquenceRiddles are little poems or phrases that pose a question that needs answering. Riddles frequently rhyme, but this is not a requirement.
I am a stock, a repertoire if you will,
A way to mesmerize people with your skill.
If you had a good inventory of me, you'd say 'abbreviated' instead of 'short',
And when someone asks you how the food is, you'd say 'delectable' instead of 'nice and hot'!
You'd roll words out effortlessly, flatter all with your diction;
You'd switch wonderfully between fact and fiction.
People would enjoy listening to you talk, wondering what new word you'd employ today;
Perhaps it might be 'surreptitious', but you won't say!
So tell me, what could this stock possibly be,
That makes a literary genius out of you and me?
Improving and maintaining your vocabulary helps immensely to articulate your thoughts perfectly and properly. No matter what the language, it's always wonderful to learn new words belonging to it and eventually employ them in day-to-day usage.
