In front of you are five white cards on a table, laid out in a row from left to right. The cards are all squares 5 centimeters wide and 5 centimeters long. On each of the cards there is one large, black symbol. The first card from the left has the number 6, the second has an = sign, the next has the number 2, the next has a + sign, and the last card has the number 8, spelling out the incorrect equation, 6 = 2 + 8.
The challenge: Move only one card to a different location so that the equation is valid.
Fold the cards.
Tear any part of the cards off.
Remove the cards.
HintThe move requires placing a card on top of another card.
AnswerTake the card with the + sign on it, rotate it 45 degrees (so that it looks like a multiplication symbol), and place it on the left edge of the 8. Adjust the rightward pointing white corner of the + sign card so that the 8 now looks like a 3. You should now have 6 = 2 x 3.
