Menacing Matchsticks VIIITrick brain teasers appear difficult at first, but they have a trick that makes them really easy.
You will need twelve matchsticks for this puzzle.
Take four matchsticks and form a square with them. With the other eight matchsticks, make two more identical squares next to the square you have just made. Make sure that the sides of the squares are lined up with respect to the other squares. Also, ensure that there is enough space between the squares, such that a matchstick can be placed horizontally between them.
The challenge: Move three matchsticks to get a form of indication.
Break the matchsticks.
Stack the matchsticks.
Remove the matchsticks.
Make an arrow.
HintOne word, four letters.
AnswerMove the top matchstick of the center square and place it horizontally in the rightmost square. Take the rightmost matchstick of the rightmost square and the rightmost matchstick of the leftmost square and make an L in the space just to the left of the center square (which now looks like a U). You should now have the word CLUE, a form of indication.
