Before you're allowed to interact with me

Before my curfew takes effect tonight
I will have disappeared from your sight

Through my upper surface your submission is tendered
My contents examined for a decision rendered

For a limited time I will fulfil my function
Eventually to return at some future junction

You may notice I'm alliterative in name
Democracy without me wouldn't be the same
