| Im glad so many people liked it! I WOULD HAVE liked it a lot. But, it wasn't worded correctly for one minute street or whatever to be the answer.
1: you give examples that, street 1 is first street, street 2 is second street.
Then you say: But, he couldn't find Street 62 (notice how this is the same as the above examples: street 1, street 2, Street 62)
3)the locals call it something else, what do they call it? Considering that it's a TRICK teaser, and the info given, the only answer would be: They call it Sixty-second Street.
This may seem too obvious but in "Trick" teasers, the answer often is obvious and simple.
To make it correct, all that's required is to say "He couldn't find Sixty-second Street." Then ask: what was the other name the locals had for it? I wonder if you avoided that because it makes it too easy? I don't know, maybe it would be too easy that way, but I don't agree with making it harder by making it esseentially incorrect. Sorry, the idea is really good, and most people seem to have really loved it and weren't bothered by any inconsistencies, and if it was just worded slightly differently, I think it would be a FANTASTIC teaser! Still, thanks for the hard work and brain power put into writing this. Thanks! |

| I wouldn't call those thoughts of shawneeo's "pedantic." I LOVE the teaser , but I don't think I could have ever figured it out ... not even with the hint. WORDING is tricky when creating these things. You want it difficult enough to tease, but you do want it DO-able. That's a tough balance. |

| it's extremely funny to hear shawneeo sound so completely confident when s/he is absolutely wrong with his/her statements and reasoning. The teaser was worded correctly, DID in fact present a twist, and the answer was clever. It is simply sour grapes to try and pick it apart, and embarrassing to do it in such an incorrect analysis.
and to baliset, the answer is indeed accurate as "Sixty Second" without needing to be pluralized. If you go to a theme park, you might take a "sixty second" ride on a coaster, but not a "sixty seconds" ride. A 60 second ride could then be called a "minute ride," so your argument is empty and like shawneeo, quite incorrect for being so pompous.
I was a math and engligh major in school and can assure you that the logic AND wording in this puzzle is intelligent, correct, and very clever. And judging by the ratings and comments, I'm glad to see most people agree despite the few uncompensated folk.
