IanMagus Dec 12, 2003	The explanation for this answer is incorrect. The International Date Line does not pass through any country. However, Alaska does cross the 180 degree longitude which does cause it to be both the furthest east and west. However the date does not change when you cross the 180. Check a map or globe and you will see what I mean. Good Teaser though!

kcelf27 Apr 28, 2005	East and west don't change depending on where you are at. What is East for one may be west for another. Just because it crosses over some line doesn't mean you aren't going west anymore. I'm not usually critical, but I think this one should have stayed at home.
