Brain Teasers
Is it a Good Job?
Trick
Trick brain teasers appear difficult at first, but they have a trick that makes them really easy.Trick
A man approached a boy asking,
"Did you kill my beloved son?"
The boy answered nervously,
"Yes, I did."
The man replied with a smile,
"Good job, boy!"
How could this happen?

Hint
It's the answering, not the answer, that matters.Answer
This happened during an English course on questions and answers. The teacher, posing a testing question, was glad that his pupil gave a grammatically perfect answer.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

ick...
Suppose the man wanted his son dead even though he said "beloved". The only reason he might have said beloved was to avoid the electric chair.
uhm i hate to be a pain, but if the teacher is pleased that the child gave a "grammatically correct" answer, then it *is* the answer that's important, and not just the answering (as per your hint)
i figured it was grammaticlaly incorrect, as in the "father" said "did you kill, my beloved son" liek - old english times when they would hunt, and the boy was timid and afraid to hunt/kill... the real answer is... i dont know, i just dont like it
WWWWHHHHHHHAAAAAAAATTTTTT

How is it bad? It IS a trick question. And who are you to judge his teaser? Other people might even think yours are just as bad.
I agree, nothing in the puzzle lead you to believe it was an english course. That was BAD!

Definitely out of the box.
