I have five letters.
If you take the first and last,
I will still be the same.
Even if you take the middle letter,
I will be the same as before.
What am I?

Answer

I am EMPTY. If you take away the first and last letters, you have MPT, which is pronounced the same way. If you take away the middle letter, you have EMTY, still pronounced the same!

Er! No! I don't think so. If you're left with MPT it is pronounced EM PEE TEE. If you take away the first, third, and last, you are left with MT. Pronounced EM TEE !!!

I disagree completely.
It only works if you pronounce some of the letters with sounds and some with their names. It should be either (something like) mm-puh-tuh or em-pee-tee. Those don't not make empty.
