Or you could cut the rope in half

it would be easier to put the two ends of the rope together so the rope bends in the middle and then a half hour would be when it burned to the bend. then you could use the other half of the rope for the next half hour.

or you could just set it in the middle so it would be 30 minutes when it reaches the end

rope doesn't always burn constantly... if you put that in the riddle it would make it better

Clever solution! I also thought to just fold it in half, but your way was much more interesting! (though twice as risky!)
