Brain Teasers
Bear
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
If John and Jane appeared to be getting attacked by a bear, why were they not running away?
Answer
The bear that appeared to be attacking them was a stuffed bear statue at the local wild life museum, so that is why they did not run away.Hide Answer Show Answer

incidentally, even in the case of a real bear confrontation, RUNNING away is the WRONG thing to do. if a bear sees you and looks "interested", it's best to talk, raise up your arms, and back away slowly. if the bear comes after you, climb a tree or play dead (fetal position). the bear should lose interest. if it's a polar bear attacking and you don't have a gun, you're out of luck.
Ya, that was pretty stupid!
you didn't have to say it was stupid, it was just so simple that we with powerful minds quite often think too much and end up looking over such an easy solution
There are simply too many possible ways to answer this teaser.
it's not all that impossible. and bluetwo is right putting your hands up makes you seem bigger and you are suppose to try to make yourself appear to be bigger than the bear.
Easy...
Why would a stuffed bear attack them??

sorry about the quanitity of the above comments. I acidently posted too many times.
the stuffed bear wasnt attacking them, it just looked like it was attaking them, basicaly a teddy bear that looked like it was going to eat you. definately not something i would buy.
I agree that this teaser has 2 many answers, like, they didnt run away because it was in a video game, or it was a statue of a bear, or it was in a cage at a zoo and it would have 2 climb up a large straight drop (like the tiger exibits at the washington dc zoo) making it virtually impossible to climb out of its cage. this has potential to be a really good teaser it just needed a little bit more thinking going into its making.

There are numerous teasers which use the terms "appear," "about to," and "could." I could say that they are really over done, but I may hold my breath...
its hard to put out good brain teasers.

I agree with Bluetwo. I live in Alaska, am in sixth grade,, and learning not to run away from a bear is something you always learn every year.
