A Lawyer's Jam ProblemTrivia brain teasers have some element of trivia in them, but they are not just pure trivia questions.
Maria was a health nut. She was also a Canadian lawyer. She was in the supermarket one day looking for some jam, but of course it had to be sugar-free, as she was crazy about health. As soon as she found some, she looked closely at the label. It clearly read "Sugar Free Jam". After reading this, she made a notation of the brand name of the jam and prepared to file a case against the company. The jam was actually sugar-free, so what other problem could she have with it?
HintIt wasn't a problem with false advertising or something similar.
AnswerIn Canada, anything called "Jam" has to have at least 10% sugar, so it is legally impossible to have "Sugar free jam". However, it can be called "Sugar-free fruit spread", as an example.
