The two parent could be adopting the two girls who are born on the same day to different biological mothers.

Or, they could be two test tube babies implanted in the mother.

technically they'd be fraternal twins then. What he has is the only good answer.

I was going with a play on words. Thinking they were both born on a Tuesday that same year (or a Wednesday, Thursday, whatever) since it said day and not date.

May 07, 2006

hey, just a thought-
would them being born on the same day of different months on the same year be a valid answer?
like one is born on Januray 7th 2006 and one is born on December 7th 2006
or does "the same day" imply the same month?

i was guessing that they were born on different months...but that is also an answer, nice one
rrn0rrnrrnY*us*
Sep 02, 2006

I agree with the others who also thought that with the wording of day and year and no mention of month, they certainly could have been born on the same day and same year in different months 9-11 months apart. I also agree that two girls part of triplets are fraternal twins. Teaser has good entertainment value tho, as it has caused a lot of thinking even if different from the answer.

I guessed they were born from parents who had hired two different "hired moms". That's what newfangled medical techniques makes to good ol' teasers! A very nice one!

mercedes13, you need to reread the question...it clearly states that these two girls were born "IN THE SAME YEAR".

Same day, same year => Sunday 4th January 2009, Sunday 20th September 2009. You should change day to date.
