Mrs. Bradbury has five delightful children 3 girls: Madison, Paige, & Reed, and 2 boys: Charlie & Billy. The children are all different ages (2,4,5,7,9). Mrs. Bradbury went to the grocery store and purchased 5 boxes of cereal: Apple Jacks, Pops, Oh's, Sugar Squares, and Fruit Flakes. Her children each had breakfast at different times the next morning 5:15, 6:45, 7:00, 8:15, and 9:30. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to figure out how old each child is, which cereal they ate, and what time they woke up to eat breakfast. ~Good Luck.
Billy doesn't like to get up too early.
Sugar Squares can only be eaten by kids over 6 years old.
Paige woke up and found that the Pops and Fruit Flakes were gone.
Charlie's younger sister got up at 5:15.
Billy's age and the time he got up contain the same number.
Two girls ate their cereal at a quarter after an hour.
At 7:00 a four year old ate a bowl of Oh's cereal.
Reed is older than her sister Madison but younger than her brother Charlie.
The oldest child slept in the longest, the youngest child got up the earliest.
The middle child got up before 7 and enjoyed a bowl of Pops.
The eldest child loves to eat his Apple Jacks without milk.

Great Teaser, very creative!
Very good teaser; however there is another set of correct answers by the clues provided. Slightly more info or clarification is required to guarentee your answer. Enjoyed the teaser anyways but I do wish the clues had been a little more exact.
i liked this one, took me a while 2 try n get it, i mixed up char an billy...grr! its all good

yes, i agree couldn\'t one switch around the answers for paige and reed, or am i just crazy?
I got the time and age of the child associated with each cereal, as well as the fact that Madison was the youngest, but I could not distinguish between Billy & Charlie or between Paige & Reed. What am I missing? Very difficult grid teaser - I\'d really like it, if I could just figure this last bit out.
Pay close attention to the clue that Billy's age and the time he got up contain the same number.
as well as the last clue... that should help you tell the difference between the two boys. It's been a little while since I created this teaser so I did it again using the grid and got the right answer. Keep trying and keep looking back at the clues to help you figure out the spots you missed. Good luck and have fun!

This teaser took me a while, but I finally got it. Great job
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.
This one was really good. I got them all right, but the only way to distinguish between Billy and Charlie is that Billy doesn't like to get up too early, which is a relative term. I liked that it made you think, though.
did you mean that the time that Billy woke up STARTED with (instead of contained) his age?
if not, there is not enough info to distinguish between Charlie & Billy (and by extension, Paige & Reed)

Names of the children are confusing eith regard to gender.
Thanks, stark88 - I'm glad someone agrees with me! Unless you add another clue, or add some specificity to an existing clue, this puzzle cannot be solved as is (without guessing).
I feel there are enough clues to get the right answer... I did! Also the names and gender associations are listed in the main paragraph at the begining of the teaser. Nice Job!

Good one! I had fun with it!
I agree with the whole Billy/Charlie thing...but omgoodness...Reed has got to be one of the HOTTEST names i've ever heard for a girl..mad props to whoever came up with that one...wow
great teaser, i really screwed it up though but it was fun
Good Teaser!! I enjoyed it!
gREAT TEASER, TOOK ME A WHILE, BUT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH WHAT YOU PUT AS YOUR ANSWER. yOU SAID THAT THE MIDDLE CHILD WOKE UP AT 70, AND ATE POPS. wELL, THE MIDDLE CHILD WOULD BE FIVE, WHICH WOULD BE CHARLIE. bUT YOU SAID CHARLIE WOKE UP AT 6:45, INSTEAD OF 70. tHE ANSWERS i GOT WERE:
MADI---2---FLAKES---5:15
PAIGE---7---SUGAR---8:15
REED---4---OH'S---6:45
CHARLIE---5---POPS---70
BILLY---9---APPLE---9:30
MADI---2---FLAKES---5:15
PAIGE---7---SUGAR---8:15
REED---4---OH'S---6:45
CHARLIE---5---POPS---70
BILLY---9---APPLE---9:30

Hey Sarah5225766,
The middle child woke up BEFORE 7am.
I liked this one, but the first clue, "Billy Doesn't like to get up too early" is very subjective. It doesn't really draw a line as to what is too early. It is only if you assume that 6:45 is "too early" that you can come up with the solution. Otherwise, Billy could have woken up at 6:45 and Charlie could have woken up at 9:30. Any comments?

oops, srry, read it wrong, thanks for correcting me. But the part about billy not liking to wake up early, it's just common knowledge, but ur right, it doesnt have to be, but hey, it's just a teaser.
I think you can have a different answer.
Also, you can eliminate the first clue as the fourth clue eliminates Billy from waking the earliest.

that was great and a lot of fun. i got it right!
i only got it right at my 3rd attempt! great teaser.. fun n challenging but not too 'brain-damaging'..
I agree with there being two possibilities wrt Paige/Reed and Charlie/Billy. I basically said, ok, I'm going to force there to be enough info. If Billy is 5, then I can't tell which girl is younger. If Charlie is 5, then I can. Therefor Charlie must be 5, so I can tell the two girls apart.
Still, this leaves me highly dissatisfied, as this doesn't seem logical to me. Is it really supposed to be the "too early" comment that gives it away? That is too open to interpretation.

One has to take a leap of faith that "too early" means the last to rise. Also the age/time clue only eliminates age 2.
If you answer the clues strictly and not assume anything the result is; Paige/Reed are 4/7 years and gets up 7.00/8.15 and Charlie/Billy are 5/9 years and gets up 6.45/9.30.
this one is fun, but I keep getting paige/reed switched. I've figured it 3 times. i don't understand how I'm getting the wrong answer. Also, I had to assume that too early meant the last to get up.
Ok, now I feel dumb. I worked it again after leaving it for awhile, and I figured out what I did wrong. Good one!
hard but fun. good job on this teaser
Very nice teaser! I like that the clues were indirect and you had to think them out instead of being spoon-fed them. great job!

The clue that states "Charlie's younger sister got up at 5:15" would seem to suggest that Charlie only has one younger sister. The clue would be clearer if worded as "One of Charlie's younger sisters..."
The clue"Paige got up and found that the pops and fruit flakes were gone" implies that she was the third one awake, MUCH more clearly than"Billy doesn't like to get up too early" implies that he woke up at 9:30.
Nice puzzle. Good job, but clues such as "too early" are vague and ambiguous, and require subjective reasoning rather than objective. However, I really enjoyed the puzzle, and you put a lot of though in drafting the clues.
