good teaser. first four relatively easy, no idea on the fifth.
Nice! First three were pretty easy.... but I had no *clue* on three and four..... what the heck is a manger? A settee?!!? Lol..
manger is really a cattle feed trough, usually filled with hay and what Jesus was supposed to have been laid in at birth. A settee is a long wooden bench with a back/or a small sofa. Glad you like it, though.
Beautiful fishmed. Simply beautiful.
Thanks tish. I am glad when they are well received.
Wonderful teaser!
Wonderful teaser!
Nice! I haven't seen this kind of puzzle before.
i didnt like it but that is just me
this was fun!
thanks
Why did you people like it so much? I was confused.
i only missed #5..these are really fun though...do more!
Brilliant teaser! I can't believe I missed #2. #4 was tough. #5 was the best!
Good job, I only got one. The zero rosy one. I was thinking of dishes for the last one, so shesdi was what i got. dont ask.
Clever. Enjoyed this. Proud that #s 1,2 & 4 easy. Stuck on "s 3 and 5.
Good one, I got 1, 3, and 4 quickly, struggled on the others. Cool format.
Teaser Soup! I mean Super Tease.
Great! Once I figured out what I was supposed to do, I got them - all except #5. My brain could only come up with divan and I've never heard of anything called "vandi" that relates to dishes or anything else! Settee never entered my mind. Good one - stumped me good!
Did not care for it
I like these. I didn't get 3 and 5 tho. Kept thiniking of F minus and Chesterfield instead of zero and settee.
I liked it very well .... hard mad youthink ...thats what was so great ..like most..seatee...lol....good one
I got a couple, and a couple escaped me??? This was a fun teaser....
Optimistic--Rosy?? That's the only one I couldn't figure out!!GREAT Teaser!!
Loved it - nice work! Can't wait to see more of this kind of teaser.
:roll
I don't like these.

these r soo good..granted i didnt get any but still fun to try! great job!
i didn't know that optimistic meant rosy other wise very clever and fun
Finally! A teaser right up my alley! I loved it!!! Keep the word games coming!
Great teaser , i got all except 4 as i didn't think that German! was relevent (even adding an e doesn't help me!! ). Very proud as only managed one on your other flip it teaser!
This was a great puzzle! I had to ponder it for about 4 times over the day. Number 5 gave me trouble, but I sort of got it without realizing settee or whatever was a word. i.e. I got Tea Set and phoenitically guessed the other half.
i kept wondering what "bull-stay" had to do with relevant...Jesus was born in a stable! well, then again, Mary could've been in the manger when she gave birth, you never know! no hard feelings!
haha I thought it was really hard...lol
# 3 ?
Gottem all.... except rosy zero....
I ws thinking UPBEAT but couldnt think of a grade BEATUP....

liked it ! got 1 & 2easily, 4 & 5 easily but 3 I could not figure out... I suppose I got a 'zero' on that test !
Bernard Shaw once said, "The pun is the lowest form of humor. It is also the funniest." These were good wordplays, and fun. I liked it.
this one worked for me, goes to show ya we got trong and weak points. I got sick bay bicycle which was good enough for me, and manger german and figured ger-many was relavent enough
AS MY RECORD SHOWS, I HATE THESE. FACTUALLY, QUITE EASY, BUT
WELL WRITTEN; GOOD JOB.
WELL WRITTEN; GOOD JOB.
Nice!, but I missed #5.
Hello everyone.
I've never seen a teaser like that before and really enjoyed it. Great Job! Thank you.
I've never seen a teaser like that before and really enjoyed it. Great Job! Thank you.
Ha
I've never done a teaser like this before. It was quite fun and very well done.
#3 was a bit odd- FAILING or F MINUS are terrible grades. Zero is a lack of anything or the absence of any number or something like that. At least in my obnoxious opinion!
The rest were fairly easy and quite enjoyable.
A great teaser!

1st time doin a teaser like this. got 2 right. this is one for the favs.
First time in for me. Been playing and reading your comments for a week now. Seems like a friendly group and the puzzles are a challenge. Liked this one. Hope to see more like it.
Loved these, Fish. Got the first three easily enough got stuck on the last two. Good job.
Excellent teaser!
Excellent Really gave me a workout. Got 3 right but couldn't turn zero into rosy lotsa fun
Liked you comments kitty UR witty

I have to laugh reading these comments because I thought they were all easy except #1, which no one else seemed to have much of a problem with. Just goes to show you how different we all are! Fun puzzle!
I loved this teaser!!! It was great! I got 2, 3, and 4 easily. However, I didn't know "sick bay" nor "settee" so I got 1 and 5 wrong! But keep 'em comin'! I love word games!
That was agood one!!!
I could have enjoyed it much more except i didnt understand the directions.

Sick bay threw me, but otherwise they were not too hard. I got zero, rosy and thought it was wrong , til I saw the answer. Thanks Fish, good one as usual.
Easy except for #3. I guessed Zero, but couldn't figure out Rosy. I thought that one was a bit of a stretch, but other people didn't seem to have too much trouble with it. Maybe it's just me.
i liked it except for #'s 3+5 they were hard for me like really really hard lol.
i like this, make more pleaz

5/5! Great teaser, Fishmed, really fun! I don't understand the people who leave comments just saying that they didn't like it. Either leave a reason that you didn't like it, making it constructive criticism, or don't bother to comment.
good one.
Perhaps words like "settee" and "germane" might be better known to the older generation...thereby making those examples easier for some "old codgers" like me.
Nice teaser! I got only three.
Nice teaser! I got only three.
Loved it. I guessed "Sitting place / place setting" for #5. I vote it counts!

I got the first 4 immediately. The last I had to think a moment...2 words for a group of dishes must end in 'set' which then gave me settee which gave me 'tea set'. This teaser was THE BEST! fishmed! (In the midnight hour, she cried, "More, more, more!")
SUPER AWESOME TEASER!!!! But it's very hard, at least for me...
Great one! Was a bit confused with number - never heard the word germane before, but guessed it fromt he other clue
Fun teaser!! I got all but #5. The others were puzzling at first, but awesome to get! I had heard of the word germane, but decided to look it up to see if it meant what the teaser needed it to mean, and it did. Teehee!
Oh and I was stuck on #2 awhile ... I was sure gheepo wasn't a word, and couldn't think of the more usual term for it, until suddenly it came to me.

LOL! Per my comment of 3 years ago just a few entries up, I did better the first time!!! This time I got the first 4 immediately but could not reason out the last one at all!! Just goes to show I do better after midnight than before morning coffee! But one thing's the same: I loved it!!
Missed #5 and kept thinking legal and galley for #1 (even though I knew the cook was the one in the galley!) until it finally dawned on me what it really was. Great teaser ! I love these!
Great teaser. Make more!
Great teaser! I only missed number one. Only because I searched up settee and found out it was the same thing as a couchm though,
glad you liked it,
Good one and next time I will know what I am supposed to do.
I'm back and so are the repeats.
Welcome back, Cute Bug! It hasn't been the same without you. This teaser was wild! NEVER would have gotten zero/rosy or settee/tea set - and I know those words!! LOL Feliz Cinco de Mayo, mis amigos!
Great, now we're hearing repeated comments about repeated teasers.
Clever idea for this teaser, never seen one like it before.

Great Teaser - To me it was something new! I got them all without too much difficulty - Maybe that's one of the reasons I thought it was so great!
Though it is is old, I enjoyed it. I got all but #1 right away. Like someone above, my first thought was legal/galley, but I knew the galley was the kitchen area and not where a doctor would be. Luckily hubby left the TV on while he went out or a cigarette and Star Trek TNG came on and to my luck, they were discussing sickbay! Not sure I've have gotten it otherwise. Guess I am wrong and TV can be useful for something after all.
I am glad you guys liked it. I know there are repeats basic-ly because Jakes picks them by ratings and if the same ones are in the higher rankings they get picked again. he does his best to make sure they are only once a year, though. Again, I am glad you guys liked it. I have another one just like it, too.
I liked this puzzle, but still did not get #3 and #5. Others came easily. Thanks for posting - made me think!
Almost gave up on the last one, but I figured it out.
I had only heard of about 20% of those words ... That was really hard for me.
I only got two right. Thank goodness there was an example otherwise...I would've gotten zero right. Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!!
Fun, challenging and entertaining teaser; I got them all but it took awhile to come up with a synonym that could be reversed to fit both clues for each one. Enjoyed it even it is a repeat though I do not remember doing it before.
Kudos to the puzzle-maker for this one, though I suspect it probably took him longer to create it than it took many folks to solve it.
Never heard of: germane, but knew it had to be the phonetic reverse of manger?
Not one of my favourites!

Glad you guys liked it. Check out my other teasers. Thanks
I really liked it. Worked them all out but 5. Never heard of a settee and couldn't get to tea set at all. Others were great, though. Mostly challenging.
