I don't get it.
you are not alone, i don't get it either.
I think I just got it. To fast is to not eat.
You got it, Ill-L.
It's also a *double*. The lane is for those who are fasting AND it's quicker (fast) to get through because there's nothing there.
That last meaning's a groaner, fer sure !!

i didn't get it when i read it.i didn't get it when i reas the answer nor the comments
Didn't get it. If you are either "fasting" or just not ordering, why would you get in a line in the first place? If I'm dieting or not eating I don't go into a place to eat. Confusing!
Thanks, froggy, for the visit and comment. Sorry you didn't enjoy the teaser but Braingle is a BIG site so I'm sure you'll find somethig you like.
Also, I try to answer any questions that come up .... so, .... I think I have, many times, gone to a cafeteria with friends and didn't eat anything. Maybe I was dieting, had already eaten a short time before, or was just not in the mood. And I went through the line with them, so we could talk, or whatever. If there had been a *fast lane* maybe I would have gone through that one. Distinct possibility.

It was not a question of whether I enjoyed the teaser or not - I only made a comment on my own habits - you did not have to take it as a critiicism. As far as your comment regarding Braingle being a "BIG" site, I am aware of its size and I enjoy ALL of it - including the teasers. I have read some of your other submissions and enjoyed them. If I had written a negative or derogatory criticism, I would expect a harsh reply. That was not the case. I was under the impression that Braingle was for fun and enjoyment and one's comments on the contents - not to be advised that I might find another site more enjoyable when I made a simple and innocent comment. I was not trying to step on yours (or anyone elses) toes! Thanks for putting me in my place?!?

To froggy. Please accept my apology. I misread your comment in that it had the pronoun *you* in it (which I thought meant *me*; badbunnee) and I realize now that you were referring to a generic *you*, meaning anybody. I had no intention of being as harsh about it as it came across. But, upon re-reading it, that could be interpreted as such. As you delineated the options for yourself, I was attempting to show that others (including me) might exercise other ones. Also, I misinterpreted your confusion about the rebus. I thought you were unhappy with it.
Thank you for taking the time to put me straight on it. Sorry, truly !!

I'd have added the word LIFE in between the Not and the hing, to make Life in the fast lane
Hiya, Ixie ...
You old shapeless-mass-of-amber, you ...
I have an absolute, inviolable, consistent rule about my teasers; whenever anybody comes up with a better one, I steal it.
You just been robbed, my friend.

Hiya, again, Ixie-poo ... how ya been? And Hi to everyone else.
This is BadBunnee reincarnate as LittleBrownElf. BtB (Bad-the-Bunny) is no longer permitted to submit teasers, post comments, use the mailer, or participate in Forums.
And ... to those of you who have inquired, BtB, in the space of around three months or so active, submitted 90-some teasers and had over 35 accepted. That's a little better than one-outta-three but, of course, there's no way to determine if that's good, bad, or about average.
ALTHOUGH ... one editor inferred that BtB had more rejects in less time than anyone else.
Sooooooo ... (again, in response to your queries), I, too, am wondering what they do with all those rejects?
Ethics would, of course, not allow the editors to use them for some of their own (subsequent) submits, even when (if) the original author got the final axe.
BUT ...... (I have a suggestion).
Why not use them to send to new Brainglers who inquire as to "how to do teasers"? They could be used as "worst-case" examples. Such as ... "DON'T submit a teaser in this form", "THIS construct is a no-no", "BEWARE of use of this verb-form"; "HERE is an example of FAQ-violation", etc.
Actually SEEING a sloppy error is, sometimes, a better learning tool than a mere verbal description.
THEN .... (should the new Braingler be of innovative bent), they could have permission to "rework" the rotten offender (the submittal, not the original author) and submit it on a "trial" basis.
If this is ever done I hereby (speaking in full authority, alter-ego, and power-of-a-turnkey for BtB) grant permission to use my (his?, ours?) rejects for this purpose.
Also, I (as LBE) plan to return with some new ones (I have to wait a week – new rule), BUT ... should you not see ALL those posted, then you will know that some MORE have failed the "ed-test" and are (then) available for "learn-from-your-mistakes" learning. Ask for them !!!

This is poorly explained. Comments do not substitute a well written answer.
