Five dog owners have taken their puppies to doggie training school. In order to graduate, each puppy must perform at least one trick flawlessly for their master. The owners, 3 men (Jordan, Ethan and Michael) and 2 women (Haley and Alexis), are preparing their dogs (Merlin, Bogey, Eagle, Bailey and Daisy) for the final exam. Your job is to identify the owner of each dog, and each dog's age, breed, name and its trick. Note: unless stated otherwise, all references to ages are in dog years and the grid provides ages in dog years as well. Good Luck and Enjoy!!

1. No owner's first name shares an initial with either their dog's first name or the breed name.

2. Jordan's dog can speak (not real words, just dog words like Aarf).

3. The Yellow Lab performs a trick with two words.

4. The 1 year old dog is a mixed breed.

5. Daisy is a beagle.

6. Alexis's dog, who can't sit, is older than Haley's dog and younger than the dog that can play dead.

7. No matter how hard he tries, Merlin's owner can only get him to roll over.

8. Michael's dog is 14 years old--in human years.

9. Bogey sits and watches the 1 year old dog speak.

10. For his one year birthday today, Bailey got a date with the Maltipoo (witnesses say it was puppy love at first sight).

11. The Beagle's owner is very refined, so she prefers that you say her dog "politely requested" instead of begs.

12. The 18 month old German Shepherd is owned by a boy.

ben, 1 dog year = 7 human years (see the hint). So the two year old dog is 14 in human years.

actually dogs age faster than humans thats why they dont live to be as old as humans. so really one dog year=7 human years it was fun

Umm you got the years wrong.

You have:

7 human years = 1 dog year

The right way:

1 human year = 7 dog years.

So:

A dog that is 3 years old in human years would be 21 years old in dog years. Trust me. I know dogs.

Hmmm... I got it right but in my solution the doggie names Bogey and Eagle are interchangable - what did I miss??

This was a fun teaser! The only problem with it is that with clue #10. I thought that since the 1 yr old had a date with a maltipoo, that dog was the same breed. That's how it normally works in the breeding. I'm just curious about that answer.

on #4 the 1 year old dog is a mix breed , i don't know what kind of dog are mix breeds, and as u have been told alot u got ur dog-human years mixed up, u need to work on ur clearness in clues , but i still liked it

punk rockers right... you have to change it... because one HUMAN year = 7 DOG years.. look if i had my dog for 2 years.. hes 14.. i mean.. see thts y they die at like 11... they are rlly 77 in they're years.. it makes sense... i have 2 dogs trust me!

I spent about an hour on this before rereading one of the hints and realizing that my chart was all wrong. I also got onto the internet to look up which dogs were mixed breeds before finding out that it said in the hint. I got so frusturated that I looked at the answer. Great teaser!

Very nice! I had the same issue with Bogey and Eagle until I looked at the comments.

German Shepherd is spelled wrong.
But other than that it was a pretty good puzzle.

This one is very hard for me. I've done it twice, and come up with different answers (neither correct). I got closer the 2nd time though, I mixed up the maltipoo and puffette. Even though it was difficult, I enjoyed it. Got my brain thinking (and possibly fried). Good job on this one.
