| MrLicks, here are the lyrics to the song you tried to get your phrase from written by Ned Washington
Performed by Jiminy Cricket (Cliff Edwards)
Note the LACK of the word 'falling'

When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Fate is kind
She brings to those to love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing
Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true
If you are going to use a phrase for a teaser, @ least get the phrase right.
U R welcome (again) |

| Hi Timilee, Thanks for the Lyrics. I have never heard of that song but it was nice to read it.
Perhaps I should have used the Jaws theme tune eh?
Do a quick Google search for the phrase and you'll be interested I'm sure to see many references to this common phrase

Thanks again timilee, you do brighten my day |

| u don't get Disney in your part of the globe? You don't know who Jiminy Cricket is? sorry...
And that is cute that you are into Snowbabies Miniatures, i'm sure they are way more popular around the world than Disney.
Well at least you DO know the JAWS theme, that's gotta' count for somthin'...my bad |
MrIxolite
Apr 14, 2005
| No problem tim,
Nobody can know all the phrases of the English speaking world so don't beat yourself up about it.
I was only messing with you on the Disney thing. Of course I am aware of it, but they don't hold the monopoly on the phrase I am sorry to say.
Snow babies are not my thing really but there are a multitude of other examples of the "falling" element used on Google.
Thanks for taking the time again.
Good luck with your future teasers

| So do you feel good about yourself that you are an editor that can blackball teasers that are submitted by people you don't like? |
MrIxolite
Apr 14, 2005
| Ah Sorry timilee, but you seem to be attributing me too much power. No single Editor has the ability to blackball a teaser. I am just one of a number of Editors that vote on a teaser, and generally the majority vote carries the decision. Your teaser was unfortunately not able to be accepted.
It's a shame that you feel you have to take your rejection out on individuals. Try to learn from the rejection and work on making your teasers better.
I have had loads of teasers rejected and still do. Best thing to do would be to learn from it and raise your game.
If you check out the message boards you will see a section for "Ask the Editors". If you have any questions as to why your teaser was rejected, and the explanation given at the time wasn't clear, then by all means ask it there. Any member of the Editing team will be pleased to clarify why it was not accepted.
Don't let this put you off submitting in the future though.

Apr 15, 2005
| Um? Okay.
Not sure what you think us Editors do but you really have got the wrong idea. I don't have the power to do what you are suggestiing.
Thanks for all the Smilies though, that was very mature. |
