Mnemonic devices help people to remember the order of something by using the first letter of each name in the set to make other words in a catchier phrase or another word that is easier to remember. For example: ROY G. BIV stands for Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. These are the order of colors in the rainbow, or light spectrum.
