Five American students are in a foreign exchange program. There are three boys (James, Jacob, and Alex) and two girls (Liz and Melissa). Each student went to a different country (Mexico, Canada, Brazil, China, and Italy) and brought a different musical instrument (Guitar, Harmonica, Sax, Piano, and Flute) with them. Find who went where and who brought what from these facts:
1) Liz has been studying Italian and she loves it.
2) James loves Chinese food.
3) Alex loves Jazz and cannot go long without his instrument.
4) Jacob didn't need an extra bag or case for his instrument, as it fit in his pocket.
5) Melissa wanted to see the Amazon.
6) James had a hard time getting his '64 Strat through security.
7) Melissa's case for her instrument lined one side of her suitcase.
8) Alex wanted a Spanish feel.
9) Liz's family had a baby grand piano.
10) Jacob wanted to go back to his French roots, but he didn't want to leave the continent.

This would be a good beginner teaser, but isn't challenging for those with experience.
if people didnt know what a '64 strat was, it would be confuzing
um, these things are hard for me without the logic graph, I always have to use them.
nice teaser but a little easy
hey, what do you expect? it was my first teaser.
I loved this one! I liked the fact that I had to know what a stratocaster was.
Congratulations sissy245 on your first teaser. You did a good job for being your first one. It may have been easy but the more you do, the more difficult you will probably make them. Again, congrats!
that was easy, but fun. it was better than my first teaser, though. i have a 0.33 (or something like that) for difficulty on mine! it was fun, though.

I apologize in advance for the critique, as I'm only trying to help!
To be perfectly honest, I thought of this more as a trivia entry and not a logic one, as there was no real logic involved in getting the answers. Ten clues, each one giving us one of the ten answers needed in the puzzle, hence no logical deduction. I also have a small beef about assumptions in the puzzle. I could easily give Alex the piano, as it is also a very popular jazz instrument, and Liz the sax, as I would not assume she played piano because her family has one. (Maybe, "Liz loves her baby grand at home." ?)
In any case, I liked the trivia aspect ('64 Stratocaster, Amazon etc.) and was picturing my flute in its suitcase!

that was a really great teaser, although it was kind of easy. don't listen to the advanced ppl. There are ppl out there that like easy ones. You get better at them over time, so just hang at your level, you'll find that you get better and better
I thought it was all right, except the clue about jazz, although I though of the Sax right away. You know, all the intruments mentioned are being used in jazz. But hey, that's not important!
Anyway, as for the '64 Strat, I used Google to find out what it was.

when i think of jazz, i think of a sax, and it was eleven at night or something when i wrote this.
It could have been harder since every clue gave you an answer, but I enjoyed the music aspect!
It was quite easy and not to logical but hey never mind, mines quite trivia ish so I hope it passes.. hmm yeah it was good and I was pleased I got all the clues. brilliant first teaser
I love teasers like this. try and make more
Isnt it kind of difficult to get a piano to Italy? Good teaser.
very nice for your first teaser....great job
I would imagine that it would be harder to get a baby grand through customs than a 64 Strat
Didn't need the last two clues, but you (or your character) has excellent taste in guitars! Thanks!
Aww, this was your first teaser?
Thats cute.
The title made me think of Fezz... why wasnt he in the teaser?

very Easy. Hint didn't help and was unneeded. Some clues could'vebeen left out
well -- I had no idea what a '64 Strat was, plus as mentioned already, there were a lot of assumptions to be made and there was not much there in regards to using logic. Cute idea though.
Way too easy. Nice teaser, but i didnt even need the '64 strat clue or the last clue. still pretty good though.
In addition to the aforementioned assumptions, you can't assume that just because someone likes chineese food means they are going to live in China, etc. Loving something does not mean that is the choice they made.
The '64 Strat clue and the last clue were unnecessary, but this is wonderful for your first teaser!
