Yippe! My fifth teaser accepted! I got a little star by my name! Too cool.
I hope everybody has fun or at least a bit of a brain workout from this one.

that was fun...
That's good fun. Didn't get the 4th one though... had no idea what a tier was :p
I only got four of them. I didn't get the tier/tire one. i could have done better.
Very cool, but I didn't get the seat/teas one.
Keep on with the great puzzles!

tyre, not tire (tire = to wear out), and i have trouble with "teas" being a word, otherwise it wasn't bad
Very nice and very clever. Not sure what the "tyre" comment above is about. When I looked it up, "tyre" is the "chiefly British variant of TIRE." So, I'm taking it as a "metric" spelling issue .
Thanks for looking up tyre. It confused me a bit too. I have never heard or seen it spelled that way. Interesting.
I do see the point about "teas" though. I almost didn't include that one in the teaser because it seemed awkward. Should tea be used for the plural (like deer or sheep)?
Oh well, I hope you had a bit of enjoyment with the teaser anyhow.

I can confirm TYRE is the British spelling.
Great teaser though nice one Tam

Thanks for confirming that dutchy. I like to learn new things! It is especially interesting when it reminds me that I actually speak american and not proper (or improper ) english.
I will remember that spelling/use of tyre and perhaps i can add it too a teaser someday.

YAY! I got all of them right except the one about - tier;tire. I was trying to think of an anagram for piece ! LOL, oh well. Good job, I enjoyed it!

Got 'em all. Great. Congratulations on the star.
Ii GOT THEM ALL TOO. cONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF US. wE ARE SO SMART!!
I must be a dummy but andI only get two
They were great! Easy, but great
You can use tea in the plural sense, in the sentence you used it would have to be used that way.
it was okay. i didn't get the seat teas one. i forgot a bout the mad hatter thing in alice of wonderland. but other than that...very cool.
I missed the last one.
Good job!
Good job!
Hi:
That was a lovely teaser. I love cakes and I am two months over 50. That part about cakes was wonderful. If your birthday is near or you are going to eat cake soon, remember me. God bless and quack - quack

I loved it! cute teaser, although I would recommend an in-teaser explanation of what an anagram was... I'm on summer vacation... I forgot what an anagram was... oh well lol I figured it out evenually...
Great teaser!
Great teaser!
Good job! I actually got them all. That was fun!
Really nice, fun teaser!
Incidentally I think the title "Paris pairs" is a hint and/or nod to the anagram

Congrats on the star!
Congrats on the star!
Very good teaser. I got them all except the seat/teas one. Regarding your comment about English versus American spellings, I want to say that just because tire is spelled "tyre" in England does not mean that we Americans do not speak/spell properly. We have many words that are spelled differently, but who is to say which spelling is correct. I prefer American versions!
sorry, didn't mean to confuse people with the "tyre" comment above. I'm Australian, and I've never seen "tire" used in the sense of meaning "wheel on a car", here it's spelt "tyre" and "tire" is used when you are weary...I used to have the same problem with the American use of the word "check" to mean (effectively) a money order, whereas in Australia it's spelt "cheque" and "check" means...well a number of different things, but not that.
sorry about the confusion!!

This is my first comment ever! I had so much fun with this teaser, thank you. I got all but seat/teas (couldn't get 4 letters with tea ). I have to admit, I looked up anagram
Thanks for all of the great comments!!
Yes emily , you were right when you mentioned that the title was a "nod" to the teaser being about anagrams.
Perhaps I will add an "in-teaser "anagram explaination if I do this in the future to help the newbies and those "on vacation"
By the way , good point about the fact that our Americanisms are different does not make them inferior
Glad you all enjoyed this!
Well, I am off to eat just a part of a teir of some cake that is decorated with a rose and sip my one sip a cup of tea that I brew from one of the many teas in my cabinet.

I loved this one it made me think and I actually got them all right! This is going in my favorites. Good job!
Loved it! and i actually got some of them! Good job

Tam, you ARE funny and clever. Good job on the teaser'ish teaser, keep them coming.
You make me blush Thanks again for the ego boost
That was fun! I got stuck in the tyre too, so to say, as we spell it 'tyre' too! Other than that, nice!
Thanks brainster for checking out my teaser
Good One, Tam, just don't try sipping tyre tea on a short tier.
Good teaser. I really enjoyed it. I am very excited that I got them all !!! I love when I get them. You did great job, and you also have gotten some interesting feedback on it too. :
ELEMENTARY!!
Says the one who has yet to submit a single teaser to the site. *itching to use the roll-eye smiley*
Amen, Brainster.
Easy enough to get you going in the morning! WTG! Keep 'em coming!

Another fun one tamip! I struggled with the Mad Hatter for a while... Had "seat" and "teas" right away, but also thought it felt a little awkward. Grammatically correct, and perfectly acceptable if he had a variety of teas to choose from, so I went with it. I always enjoy the different terms and spellings of America versus the areas that are more influenced in language by the British Empire. Could be a fun teaser! Boot vs. trunk, colour vs. color, truck vs. lorry, etc. I may work up and submit one when I reach my goliath 250 pt. requirement. Thanks, as always, for submitting!
PS: Those of you who are at 276 pts. ^^^ are eligible to submit anytime!
Good teaser. I found them a bit easy but still fun. Would love to see another just like it, with maybe a few more difficult ones this time.
Your use of teas by the way was perfectly valid. It's the only way to distinguish in that sentence that he had several different varieties of tea as opposed to just lots of tea of one type.
I guess the Aussies must do something similar to us here in Canada. We follow the British spelling for some words but the American for others, so we sit somewhere in the middle. We use tire not tyre but in other words like colour and theatre for example, we go with the British. Interesting how the Aussies went with the British spelling of tyre for one meaning but the American spelling of tire for another. Smart way of making them easily distinguishable without having to even see it in context.

Interesting to see the different places from which we all hail. Easy for me, may be harder for others. I wait for my chance to submit my own.
2 out of four ain't bad. Oh Oh I suppose I'll catch some hell for aint...
I really enjoyed the teaser. Congrats.Tam, om your star. Keep these coming, Thx
I could get the first one. Great teaser!
Not bad...but I was a little confused by "teas".
Like a few others I didn't get seat/teas. Good job.
that was a good teaser i almost got em all right
I have the same routine when getting to work every morning. I open my Google home page to try to solve the Braingle teaser of the day. Some days I do, some days I do not. Some teasers I like, some I do not. If I like the teaser, I comment on it to let the author know I enjoyed their effort. If I do not, I keep my mouth shut. Why? Because, like others, I do not submit teasers!!! Very Nicely done Tam. Going into my favorites!!
Got 3 out of 4 !!!!not bad It was enjoyable.
Yay, I got them all. Tire is an american word for when you are a little fluffy around the middle. Hence. a spare tire. Like on a car. Which, is it really an american word. Doesn't the british have tIres on their cars? Either way, I've never seen it spelled with a Y before. I think it was an awesome teaser. Send more like it.
very nice!
Cute Fun love the comments
Great Fun!!! Did not take too long before I got it but I had to start with #3 to get motivated.
Enjoyed a lot!!!!
Thanks
I like.
I had fun with this one. Missed a couple though. I said rabbit and habbit. send more of this kind.
I enjoyed this one. I have a lot of teas myself, so I wasn't at all concerned about the Mad Hatter's situation.
I had no problem with the tire either -- thank you, Canadian Tire! (For those who don't know what I mean... uh... what the heck, just go check out canadiantire.ca. It's a good store. Probably doesn't deliver out of country though!)
I found it interesting that the first blanks in #4 and #5 stumped me, and I had to start with the second blank. Just a pointless thought brought on by observing myself solve this one...

Good job, and fun too. What more can we ask? Oh, and Imurray - on this one you are not Sherlock Holmes - where did you come up with elementary?
Nice job! More please.
Nice job! More please.
Got all except no.2, and then kicked myself for missing out on 2 when I saw the answers! Good teaser...Yes, in our part of the world, it is spelt as 'tyre' and not as 'tire'.
LOVED IT!
Easy ,but enjoyable.
Very fun! Thanks for posting!
Very EZ, but lots of fun!!
I got 4/5 very easily but couldn't get past 'tea'! Enjoyable teaser!

Good one. I got them all but #4 and only got 1/2 of it. Fun though.
4/5 I came close on #2. Never thought to make tea plural.
I agree with what Catmom said. I got all but #2.
Fun, easy and entertaining teaser; I got them all very quickly.
