Just Enough Time to Deliver the Message
In Cryptography teasers, a phrase or expressions has been encoded in some way (frequently by replacing letters with other letters). You need to figure out the encoding method and then decode the message to find the answer.
Justin Case and Auntie Bellum are fellow con artists who deliver coded messages to each other to communicate. Recently Auntie Bellum was put in jail for stealing a rare and expensive diamond. Only a few days after this, Justin Case sent her a friendly letter asking her how she was. On the inside of the envelope of the letter, he hid a code. Yesterday, Auntie Bellum escaped and left the envelope and the letter inside the jail cell. The police did some research and found the code on the inside of the envelope, but they haven't been able to crack it. Could you help the police find out what the message is?
This is the code:
llwatchawtfeclocklnisksundialcirbetimersool
HintIt was a TIMED escape.
Hide
Answer
The message was "loose bricks in left wall." The message was put backward with words related to time in between.
This is how the message looks when separated:
ll watch awtfe clock lnisk sundial cirbe timer sool
If you take out watch, clock, sundial, and timer, this is what is left:
llawtfelniskcirbesool
Look at this backwards and this is what you have:
loose bricks in left wall
Auntie Bellum took out the bricks and escaped in the night. Then, she put the bricks back where they were.

| I know this is totally late, but I had to leave my bragging on here for posterity. I GOT IT!!! On the first try, too!
I don't know what clicked in my head, but I thought, "What if I ignore the obvious words?" Wrote it out, started crossing out the words I could see, and almost got stuck on "timer" (couldn't decide if it was "time" or "timer").
Then I looked at what was left and at first, I thought I was going to have to find more words to cross out, but then it just popped out at me.
When I saw that I got it right, I thought about how the police in the story were pretty lame if I could figure it out and their crack team of experts couldn't!
Great teaser! Another great addition to my faves list! |

| faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHa ha, coach! This was a good one, SoF! I wish I was as advanced as the obviously very advanced code-breaker who commented above at the very beginning, about "minor codeing". I've noticed a popular code on Braingle is to misspell so many words so badly that the words become unrecognizable! lol!
Actually, with this one, the hint threw me off, because then it made me think the msg.would about what time to escape! I actually had looked backward
but wasn't looking at the right groups of letters. Thanks! |

| That was enjoyable... I like it when things just "come to me." I saw the obvious words, thought aha those must mean something, so I copied and pasted the text into a word processor, bolded the time-related things, and the "sool" at the end made me think of "loose", so I kept reading backwards.......
trockitogtreeidlakena

Very good! Thanks, SoF!
Hey, besamwhatever- Accusing SoF of plagiarism (that means copying someone else's work) is vicious and mean, and if you can't PROVE IT, you shouldn't say it, especially not in a public format. If you really had a case, you should PM SoF or the webmaster with your EVIDENCE. Also, has it ever occurred to you, besablahblah, that two people could come up with a teaser based on the same word or name without one copying the other?
How very, very RUDE! |

| I don't get it. What do those time pieces have to do with loose bricks or the message being backwards? |
