Whilst on my computer, in England, I started chatting with a lovely girl from America. Things started to look good, so we decided, through private messages, to meet up.
The date was set, 6/7/05. We were to meet on neutral ground, so we decided on Madrid.
I got there, on the day we had arranged, only to find she had already come and left, nearly a month earlier. We both got there at the day we arranged, so how did we miss each other by a month?

Answer
We both used a different format for writing the date.U.K. use date/month/year
U.S. use month/date/year
So I got there on 6th July, whereas my date was there 7th June.

That was extremely easy for me. Then again, I am American and have pen pals in the U.K., Turkey, Brazil and the Republic of South Africa (all of whom use the Day/Month/Year format). Without this experience it would have been harder. Good job.

This was an easy one to me. Coming from South Africa orginally, now living in USA, I still get confused with the dates sometimes!
It was really easy.

Very Good. My travels overseas courtesy of Uncle Sam have paid off...
Good one! I realized it after I looked at the answer!
Being an (ignorant) American, I would have said "What in the world?!? That's so dumb" but, having been to argentina (european enough to use that date system), I didnt need the hint, even. Great teaser!

this lil ole American gal got it!
This is why we should all use the International date format - YYYY/MM/DD
I don't understand how people thought this was the time zone - it says she had been there a month earlier, not an hour earlier!
Is this a true story?
errr, not that I know of
