| Don't Stand So Close to Me was done by the Police, not Sting as a solo artist. As if this wasn't lame enough to begin with. |
luvajoke
Nov 15, 2005
| There was only one thing I liked better then your cool entry and that was some of the replies you received from some of the obviously young audience who just wanted to trash it because they didn't know the artist or song!! Sorry about that! But, I'm sure you will get over it. |

| It was cute and I was able to get most of them. But, just so you know, brown sugar is not a unbleached natural sweetener. Brown sugar is regular white sugar that has had molasses added to it. |
kimberlykay
Nov 15, 2005
| I got them all. I don't know if I should feel "old" or justify my knowledge of these based on the fact that I have excellent taste in music.
Oh, by the way, Don't Stand So Close To Me was released by The Police in 1980 and then a newer version was re-released in 1986, but the song was written by Sting. Therefore, I do believe dutchy is correct. |

Nov 15, 2005
| This is so cool! I got the names of the artist but not the songs. I reall don't listen to that type of music so this is a lot for me to even get the names. It was a fun one. And those that are bashing this one, have you not been taught if you can sat nothing noce don't say anything at all. Everyone is intitled to his or her own opinion but it is how you say it. Don't be so harsh about it. To the person who wrote this teaser good job!!! And keep it coming! |

| EXCELLENT thought process, and great teaser. For the bashers here, instead of saying negative things at someone elses expense, put your mind in motion, and lets see how intuitive you are at creating your own teaser so someone can bash your mistakes. Get a little love in your heart. |

| i GOT most of them, but I've never, ever been good at remembering who does what song and what the song's title is; just one of those things. to lmurray, why don't you try to be more blunt, instead of being so sentimental amd mushy! Say whay you really think... I thought it was fine, but, I do have to say that the last one, the clues were not exactly on target," refrain from remaining" doesn't mean "don't", sorry if I didn't quote exactly but I can't look at it without erasing my comment... Anytime someone does titles of movies, books, music, it's always going to be more known to some than others, c'est la teaser! Thanks for a good job! |
shawneeo
Nov 15, 2005
| ok, sorry, i looked again and i guess you meant "refrain from remaining, on your feet..." to be "Don't Stand...", so OK, it's a little confusing with the comma but sorry, it's not as off as I thought! |

And.... BMC55, you should keep your stupid comments to yourself
And.... CK MONKEYMAN, you are bashing the bashers by being a basher. Can you say "idiot"? |

| Yes, there's mucho mispelling and grammar mishaps in these comments, but it's obvious what a person is saying, and I don't think anyone should be booted for having bad spelling; that's just not the right spirit, and they might be 8 years old, gimme a break! |
kimberlykay
Nov 15, 2005
| Thanks for saying that Shawneeo. I wanted so badly to respond to the comment made by halfmoonscott right after I read it, but I decided to wait and give myself time to simmer down. I appreciate the way you stated what needed to be said. I will add nothing more b/c it would be a waste of my time to respond to his negative energy! |

Nov 16, 2005
| You must just be trolling, HalfScott, because you are the only one breaking the rules here. Or didn't you read the instructions right above the comment entry box? No negative or abusive comments, and don't suggest spelling corrections. That would cetainly give you more time to proofread your own posts.
Nice job, Dutchy. I really enjoyed this teaser. |
ceeyaaa
Nov 16, 2005
| Excellent work!! I enjoyed the challenge. I didn't get any of the songs but I got 3 of the artists and some of the words in the song title. | Sting wrote it when he was with the Police, and he performs it now (don't tell him that I think it's really lame and he should let people remember it as it was, with the Police), so it's alright to say "poisonous insect injection," but what would "Police" be? "Municipally funded servers and protectors" or "fuzz?"

| I only knew a few of the songs and groups, but I still got several of the titles just based on the clues. Unbleached natural sweetener (or however it was worded) could only be Brown Sugar and I don't even think I know that song. Can't think of it anyway.
LOVED THIS TEASER! I had fun with it. Unique and entertaining.

| I got them all except for the last one. I guessed don't stand so close to me but the description of the artist threw me off. It wasn't Sting it was the POLICE. Granted Sting was the singer but it wasn't from his solo career. But nonetheless, I loved this teaser. More like it please. |

| Years from now readers will view these teasers and may ponder their reverence, but will recognize the nature of commenter. These crude and rude comments will, as long as there is a Braingle, enshrine them in a hall of shame.
But for now, this teaser was challenging for me, since I'm not a contemporary music person, but it was well written and fun to try and to work out. |
cuteandditzy
Nov 16, 2006
| I really enjoyed this teaser as much as I did last year. All the other commentors are making me feel old because I got them all and I'm only 25. As for Coldplay, they are alot more popular now than what they were this time last year. They have quite a few chart topping hits. Including Fix You. The lead singer is married to Gwyneth Paltrow. |

I figured out the artist for #1 but had to guess the song, and I was right but didn't know until I checked. I got #2, #3, #4, but was nowhere close on #5. It was fun to try though! |

| Great teaser
For those of you who say your too young to get any of these answers, think of it this way:
I'm twelve. I have heard of every one of these songs. I knew what they were. You can't be 'too young' to know a song. My parents listen to them all the time, so I recognized the older ones. And, you can't be 'too old' to know a song either. I was in the car with my dad today, listening to a pop/hip hop station and he knew just as many of the songs as I did.
And for those of you who think that there wasn't a range of old and new songs, 'Clocks' by Coldplay is a fairly new song (it just won a grammy or emmy or whatever the music awards are).
And by the way, I loved that teaser |

If you didn't, you don't comment and go on with your life. Except to make a correction of fact that you think is right, what is with all the other crap comments? After all, isn't this all for FUN? |

| I liked this one more than most. However, I must point out #3, "Perpetual motion of small rock". "Perpetual" isn't required, and "rock" should be plural, "rocks" to produce Rolling Stones. |
eamon
Nov 16, 2012
| The trouble with music and sports related trivia games is they often rely upon knowledge that isn't very broad based outside the writer's own personal world. The Rolling Stones and Queen may be globally well known by many generations but Coldplay and their catalog of song titles has hardly attained the same level of common knowledge. Imagine expecting the average American to know about captains of English national cricket teams from the last century in order to solve a teaser. |
