In Major League Baseball, the World Series is a best of seven series. The first team to win four games is the champion. The Series is scheduled so that one team hosts the first two games and the last two games, while the other team hosts the middle three games. The World Series ends as soon as one team wins four games, so the Series could be completed in as few as four games.

In this fantasy Series, the New York Yankees played the Los Angeles Dodgers. Los Angeles hosted the first two games. The final scores of the games were:
Game 1: 4 to 3
Game 2: 6 to 5 (11 innings)
Game 3: 11 to 7
Game 4: 16 to 9
Game 5: 9 to 6 (10 innings)
Game 6: 2 to 1
Game 7: 13 to 8 (13 innings)

Which team won the World Series?

So...how 'bout them Yankees?

Yes, the Yankees win again. But, it doesn't really follow that the score was 8 to 8 at the beginning of the thirteenth inning. It could have ranged from 0/0 to 8/8. What keeps LA from scoring 0 to 8 runs at the bottom of the final inning? They definitely fall five runs short of NY and lose the World Series, but that is all that can be known from the given information. Great teaser, this is one of best I've seen yet, thanks for sharing it.

It is obviously a fantasy if the Dodgers got there. Now the Yankees are a realistic example.
