Brain Teasers
I Wear the Face
I wear the face of a leader of men. My financial worth is small and my
appearance not impressive, yet my presence is a passport to any country
and society. I have the entree alike to the boudoir and the armed; I
penetrate to royal palaces and to the far corners of the earth. In my
youth I am bright and fresh looking; later, my face is marred and
disfigured and I am cast aside as nothing; but when I am very old I am eagerly sought, and a safe refuge is provided for me, where I am exhibited to admiring visitors. What am I?

Very well written. I enjoyed it. Also, good job on the description of the stamp, good job.
great teaser. i got it right (yay) but only after a lot of thought
Hmmm maybe I missed something but I really thought it was a dollar bill. Great riddle even if I was wrong.
Thought it was a coin. Good one!!!
pssssssssst.....I never was a stamp collector. I actually thought it was a coin. Very well written. Good Work!
I liked this one!
I've collected coins, but never stamps. I thought it was well written even though I got it wrong I picked money.
technically if you picked coin it would have been correct. stamps dont show as much in the way of leaders faces though
i didnt get it until i looked
I agree with sweetmama, I was also fooled into thinking it was a coin. Money does make sense when you think about the riddle. still...good job.
Fun one.
I was thought it was a flag
WRONG AGAIN!!
Liked this one!! thanks
WRONG AGAIN!!
Liked this one!! thanks
I too thought coin, as they more often contain the face of "leaders of men" than stamps, it seems.
I knew it right off the bat since we just had a similar one a few weeks ago. (plus it was pretty easy). Good one though.
Pretty easy
Good one! I guessed a coin but I guess it really doesn't go around the world.
I also thought coin, but agree that stamps would be more accurate. Good teaser. Thanks for posting.
I was thinking of a penny. Explaining the riddle makes it better.
I thought coin at first, but then it hit me. It had to be a stamp, which should have been my first thought since I am a collector. Great teaser.
Hm, I'm not good at that sort of thing. Well, good teaser anyway.
Really good teaser!! I was thinking of a penny!
Well written! I'm surprised I'm the first one posting in 2011. Everyone must be sleeping in today! Have a great weekend! HUGS to my friends in CT and PA!

At first I thought penny and then read it again and the passport to any country changed my mind to a stamp. I got it after all that. Good one, but it seems like there have been several of these types a lot lately. Easy though.
I also thought currency of some type, as has been pointed out, it more often has a leader on t than stamps. In fact, some of the rarest and most valuable stamps in the world have other than a person on them.
One of the most valuable stamps in the US is the 1918 $0.24 "Inverted Jenny", its estimated value is close to $1,000,000. There are 100 known stamps in existence.
That being said, the most valuable stamp is the 1868 $0.01 Benjamin Franklin Z-grill. Only 2 exist, one is on permanent display in New York and one is in the hands of a private collector and is valued at $3,000,000.

I guessed it was a stamp, too. Well written - thanks for posting!
Stamp, I got it.
Like others, my first thought was a coin, but then I decided it was a stamp. Well written.
I thought money, either paper or coin, both would be quite appropriate for this teaser.
Well written puzzle. Thanks!
Fun, easy and entertaining teaser; I got it very quickly.
