Oxymorons are words with opposite or incongruous meanings that when linked together, form a descriptive phrase.

Cryptography teasers are teasers in which a phrase or expression has been encoded in some way.

Cryptoxymorography teasers are teasers in which oxymorons are concealed in a cryptic mass of letters.

Can you decipher the oxymorons? They all use the same code.

I'm sure when you get around to submitting your own teasers, they will be much better. Thanks for the comment

I wasn't expecting to be given 1/5 of the solution as a "hint", just a couple of letters to get started. Giving all the vowels as a hint made solving it trivial.

I like oxymorons, but cryptography is not my game.

I'm with coach! I can enjoy oxys but cryptography is a pain. Otherwise, it's an Awesome teaser. Not too tough for any age groups! WTG!

An Imurray by any other name (puttumup) still smells rude.

The hint gave too much of the teaser away. me think. But I enjoyed it since I could solve it. Thank you for your work.

"I wasn't expecting to be given 1/5 of the solution as a "hint", just a couple of letters to get started. Giving all the vowels as a hint made solving it trivial."

It's a hint, not part of the body of the teaser. If you don't need any help to solve the teaser, don't use the hint. If you needed to use a hint, that proves that either 1) You were stumped on a couple, or 2) It was too difficult. The hint was in place to help people who have less crypto-solving experience to solve it, not for people to complain about. If you don't need it, don't use it.

"Puzzle was fine but your answer code is wrong."

No, it's not.

THE OXYMORONS ARE ALWAYS ENJOYABLE

CRYPTOGRAPHY, HOWEVER, IS ANOTHER THING, I DID THESE WHEN I WAS A KID. NOW THEY ARE OLD HAT, AND NO LONGER FUN OR A CHALLENGE, ALL IT TAKES IS AN EDUCATED GUESS HERE AND THERE AND ITS SOLVED.

MORE MORONS PLEASE.

GOOD ANSWER, Swaff, about the hint!!!

Personally, since there was no jumbo shrimp or government intelligence in the puzzle, I needed the hint. At first I thought the hint was too big, then discovered I needed it!! I got opinion first because of all the vowels; that was my breakthrough. It still took me a long time to get them all, but I LOVE cryptograms so I stayed with it. and now have the feeling of accomplishment.

For those that have had a negative attitude, please try to remember that there's something for eveyone at this site; just wait your turn patiently!
Thanks, Swaff; hope to see more cryptos.

I love oxymorons (and the occasional moronic comment once in awhile too!)

I also did these as a kid, but I enjoy them even more now because I like trying to figure out how to start without using the hint. And I was successful!! I'm so glad I didn't cave and use the hint, because it was an awfully large hint. Usually one or two letters is big enough to solve it!

I'm also so glad I waited until my day was nearly over to tackle this one (it would've been tougher without coffee I'm sure!)

My starting point: trying to guess a 3-letter word that could be used in an oxymoron. I tried "TRUE LIE" in #2, but it didn't seem to work.. so I tried it in #6 and then got #7 right away, and then I was on a roll!

Thanks for the fun time!
