Broken Into
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.
There was a man climbing a ladder to somebody's house, to the nearest window. He broke into the house and took what was most precious to the family. He climbed down, and the police were there waiting for him. He returned what he took to the police, and the police let him walk away. Why?

| OK, let me clear some things up. Say the precious object was a baby: what I meant to say was that the fire fighter returned it to the police, not back into the house. It doesn't say he put it back into the house, but then again, it doesn't say he returend it specificly (excuse my spelling) to the police, but that's the answer. |

| ok, so there is no more confusion, I have the rest of the story, The firefighter's name is Max Spranger. And so you know a little more about him, he's a 47 year veteran with the Fire Dept. He has credited with more than 3oo saved live, 450 cats in trees, and in this case one very special item. Now to make sure you have all the stupid superfulous information you don't need to solve this puzzle, I'm gonna give you a little more. Max is a Virgo that likes walks on the beaches and period movies, when he's not fighting fires. HE enjoys cooking, fine wine, and after dinner conversation. His favorite color is Blue and his favorite song is Burning Down the House by the Talking Heads. HOpefully this will be enough information for those of you who like to find something to gripe about. My goodness people, just lighten up. Oh and by the way, The object that the fireman went back for.... A 45 single of Oh, Mickey! Autographed by Toni Basil herself. | I thought I had heard this before until I saw RAYN's comments. now I know I am wrong because in the teaser I heard the fireman was called Eddy and he was a Leo. He hated the beach as the sand got in his toes and his favorite song was 'Great Balls of Fire'. |
