Brain Teasers
Into Thin Air?
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
Jill was hurrying down the hallway to go to the bathroom. When she got back to her classroom her bracelet was gone. How is this possible if the bracelet fit securely?
Answer
Jill's bracelet had a magnetic clasp and got stuck to one of the lockers. Jill, in her mad rush to the bathroom, was totally oblivious as to what had happened.Hide Answer Show Answer

cool teaser, but if it was a "mad rush" why was she just walking to the bathroom?
I was thinking the same thing as safire...if there was a "mad rush" to go to the bathroom, then why was she just walking in the teaser?
Other than that, good one!
Other than that, good one!
that was pretty good but if she was in a mad ruch why would she be just walking to the bathroom? but great idea!
Is it just me or is the answer a little bit too random. It doesn't even say she was wearing the bracelet so I presumed someone had stolen it from her desk while she was away.
Ok.. I guess she could've been speed walking... I was tired when I wrote it, sorry
come on people !!!!!!
NO RUNNING IN THE HALLS
NO RUNNING IN THE HALLS
That was also something I considered when writing this teaser... but I submitted a correction for it, so I guess it'll be ok
nice jug! ok i didnt get the rite answer... i kinda thought the toilet paper like got caught in the braclet and then she like flushed it down the toilet! O_O is that possible or do i think 2 much?
Yeah I was thinking that she left her bracelet in her classroom and when she got back, someone had stolen it.
no need to be negative... -_-
good one, but i thought she never had the braclet on and it got stolen while she was gone.
how where we supposed to know the design of the braclet?
Get real. The solution to this one is, as one reter said, totally random. Answer has no connection to story.
Erm...It wasn't too good
I kinda thought is was cool.
even though i had no idea what it was keep up the teasers and have fun dude
Kashby, if you're going to be negative, please use a spell checker. That way, we understand your issue, and you don't sound stupid. Thanks.
I figured that she had just taken her bracelet off when she washed her hands, and forgot it on the edge of the sink. I do that all the time. It's quite common, really. It's a pretty good teaser though.

LAME!
i agree. KINDA LAME
It never say she was wearing one in the first place. The truth is out there but in this case just look above.
thought it was a hall pass ot sumthin attactched to her wrist
I didn't like it either.
who knew her bracelet had a magnetic strip...thats ridiculous! I thought she left it at home or something...or that it simply fell
Oh my goodness, people, please! This a situation puzzle! And if you don't know what that is, I suggest you read the description on the top. The answer is not supposed to be easily guessable from the information provided.
And if the bracelet was left in the classroom, what is the point of saying "it fit securely"? (& this isn't a trick teaser!)
So I say that if you're going to read situation teasers, be prepared that they aren't as easily guessable as the ones in the "trick" section.

Oh yeah, and I really like this teaser. I have a magnetic bracelet and I did my science project about it so I wore it to school on the day of my presentations.... Schools have so many metal lockers and stair rails! (Especially stair rails).
i thought she had flushed it down the toilet
whoops!
whoops!
if it fit securely, when it was magnetised to meet the locker wouldnt she stuck with the bracelet
I thought she took it off. Perhaps when she washed her hands? :/
I assumed that she'd had an arm cut off. It was still on her arm, nice and snug, but if she didn't know where her arm was she wouldn't know where the bracelet was.
I still don't understand the point of these situation ones. It's not that there's a right answer or wrong answer really, which means that it could be anything imaginable.

I agree withe many of these comments and also with similar comments on other situation teasers that the answer should not be totally random. It may not be obviously deducible, as in a logic teaser but when the answer is revealed, it should be one that rather uniquely fits all the clues. This one doesn't. Where does the magnetism bit come from? There are several other answers provided by commenters that make just as much sense if not more than the one given here. I believe that situation teasers should give closure in the sense that you would say to yourself - yes of course that's it- when the answer is revealed. Not "Que"?
I also thought that she was washing her hands and left it by the sink. I do that all of the time with my watch... One time, I was trying on a shirt in the dressing room, took off my watch, and forgot it. The next day I went to the store and it was gone. It was a cool, black, big-faced digital with the works...great, great watch.
The teaser was....okay. How could it come off if it was on securely? Surely she would have felt it pull off or something?
