Very easy, but number three annoyed me. I realized the words were supposed to be 'eye' and 'watch', but that made no sense, since ( look, homonyms!) they are not synonyms. Now, if 'LOOK' and 'WATCH' had been the words, I would have agreed with you.
Mar 20, 2006

Sorry Cleo, but to "eye" something is also to "watch" it. Synonym.

Great, thanks

Mar 20, 2006

the only one i didnt get was #4. i thought he ran past the dog in order ____ get away from it. i couldnt get the other word

Nice job CDRock - gr8 teaser!
Mar 24, 2006

Thank you for the hints!
Otherwise, I'd still be working at it.
Good one, CD.
Jan 29, 2008

I really enjoyed that teaser! Took me a little while to do it without the hints, but completely logical. Thanks! Please make some more!
Jan 29, 2008

I liked it a lot also I needed the hint to get the last one.
I had fun doing this & it's only 6thirty in the a m.

More Please Watch out! I'm eyeing you

Is that helpful?
Jan 29, 2008

Good one!!
Jan 29, 2008

Good to have an easy one. Thanks for posting.
Jan 29, 2008

what did scooby doo's cousin say?
Jan 29, 2008

Got it before my coffee got cold. Thanks
Jan 29, 2008

Yes, "to eye" is a synonym of watch, but "one eye" is not. I thought glance would have been better. Overall, this one was very good, but please fix the answer! =)
Jan 29, 2008

I had to think a minute... Thanks!!
Jan 29, 2008

The nouns eye and watch as used in #3 are not synonyms, but the verbs eye and watch are synonyms, so I guess it is OK. I got it anyway
Jan 29, 2008

I agree that #3 is defective. "Eye" and "watch" when used as nouns are not synonyms.
Jan 29, 2008

How about "peek" and watch?
Jan 29, 2008

Regardless of #3 it was still a great quiz. Had fun TRYIN to figure it out. Got all but that one.
Jan 29, 2008

I agree about the noun/verb difference w/ #3...that was the only one I missed, other than that I liked it!
Jan 29, 2008

great teaser...i got all the answers, though i agree #3 needs amending
Jan 29, 2008

WOW!! Now that's a riddle!!! Unless you copied it somewhere then that isn't so kool!!!! But besides did you make that up and don't lie! I HATE LIERS!! HOPE YOU ARE"T ONE OF THEM!! Anyway great job on the riddle. Very few people on Braingle write bad riddles but you AREN't one of them!! Chow!! And keep the riddles comin becuz u r good!! LOL!! Bye!!!!
Jan 29, 2008

ARGH!! You got me on #3. Loved this one
Jan 29, 2008

er, 'fore' & 'four' are homoPHONES, not homoNYMS. homophones are pronounced the same, homonyms are spelled the same.
Jan 29, 2008

Here we go with the "homonym-homophone" battle again. Please use your best dictionary and look up "homonym"," homophone," and "homograph." Thank you.

Good teaser, but I agree with the comments about eye and watch. It had me stumped.
Jan 29, 2008

hard, but very clever. I liked it
Jan 30, 2008

Good one, 2/4 for me.
Jan 30, 2008

Jan 31, 2008

Wonderful teaser. I have 3 right. Thanks for posting something new.
All though all the teasers are great you will go on my fav. list.

Feb 01, 2008

I put "GLANCE" and "WATCH," so I guess it can be done many ways.
Feb 20, 2008

I agree with the comments about no.3. If they were 2 verbs they would be synonyms, but not as nouns.

I am English and therefore I must be right!!

Jan 29, 2011

avoma, I did the exact same thing.
Jan 29, 2011

Very clever teaser! Sure you can figure out what the answers are, but half the them are not correct.

#1 - Homonym is a word the same as another in sound and spelling but different in meaning, as chase "to pursue" and chase "to ornament metal." Fore & Four are Homophones

#3 - eye & watch - the verb/noun argument has been explained.
Jan 29, 2011

Cute and easy, but fun.
Jan 29, 2014

This was a good one and just enough to solve.
Jan 29, 2014

Interesting, but a bit on the easy side.
Jan 29, 2014

Is #3 implying that she was using the other eye to look elsewhere at the same time?
Oct 06, 2014

#1,#2 & #4 I got pretty quick. #3 for me glance & watch seemed like the best answer.
Jan 29, 2017

Fairly easy teaser; got three of them easily but I thought #3 was glance and watch. Fun and enjoyable teaser nonetheless.
Jan 29, 2017

lots of alternatives for # 3-watch .....and 1_glance, 2 -look, 3-? (studio audience? more ?
Jan 30, 2017

There was too much going on in that teaser. Do either anagrams or homonyms or something. Don't try to do them all.
