Never would have guessed it. Keep up the good work
May 29, 2006

Very easy, but absolutely fun.
May 29, 2006

Ooh, fun one!
May 29, 2006

I got it!
May 29, 2006

Easy, but I had a really good time solving it. Gave me a chance to review my table!
May 31, 2006

Fun! Good thing I still have those school books lying around, though. KUTGW

I got it without a Periodic Table--and no hint. Yess! After the first two, I figured the words were related, and guessed at the symbols I didn't know. But--who the heck thought up 'W' for Tungsten?? Great fun.
Jun 25, 2006

Tungsten used to be Wolfram so the W was for Wolfram (wolframium)

Easy as Pi

VERY VERY GOOD TEASER! - WELL DONE! - that wasquite challenging - nicely done!
Sep 08, 2007

Fun, but I don't do too well with these because I don't know most of the periodic chart.
Thanks for a great teaser!
Sep 08, 2007

I still dont get it
Sep 08, 2007

I still dont get it
Sep 08, 2007

Didn,t know where you were going till I read hint, which made it quite easy.

Sep 08, 2007

I could not remember the perodic table, but I knew where you were going with it.
Sep 08, 2007

Waaay over my head.
Sep 08, 2007

Ditto !
Sep 08, 2007

It was'nt that hard after I figured out what to do. At first I was clueless. Great teaser!!
Sep 08, 2007

I tried to figure it out and new it had to do with chemicals, but it's been 30 years since I've been in school and the mind starts to wonder. LOL Thanks for the teaser. I enjoyed trying.

Sep 08, 2007

I thought it was VERY easy. I got them all without a hint. Maybe this would have been more fun if more elements were used -- not just common ones like Nitrogen and Oxygen, but more rarely heard of ones like Palladium and Americium; this was quite repetitive to me.
But, this WAS different from all the other teasers I've seen at Braingle so far. Good job!
Sep 08, 2007

Great teaser! Ingenious and fun!
How about some more like that?
Sep 08, 2007

i love mendelev !
Sep 08, 2007

I knew exactly how to do it but was too lazy to look up ones I didn't know so went directly to answer! Shame on me!!!
Sep 08, 2007

As this was something I never learned it was difficult for me, but you made it a very good teaser.
Sep 08, 2007

Got it without the hint! Fun!!
Sep 10, 2007

Always have my periodic table handy!!! Good one!
Sep 10, 2007

Wow! that was really well done!
Sep 10, 2007

I knew that all I needed was the periodic table, having learned about that this morning, but I was to lazy to work all out...
Sep 08, 2010

Elementary, my dear Watson!

Good puzzle - thanks
Sep 08, 2010

Got a few of's been a long time since I had chemistry! Well done!
Sep 08, 2010

Checked the Periodic Table and got them right away. Very clever teaser.
Sep 08, 2013

Pretty easy if you are familiar with the Periodic Table. As it has been 20+ years since I have studied chemistry and it is not anything I need to use in my daily life, I didn't remember all the symbols. It was easy to work around that by knowing the rest.
An fun and different word game.

I'm commenting on my OWN comment back in 2010. That doesn't sound like me at all. Today I didn't get it, and I never say things like "elementary, my dear Watson" WOW strange things going on here. But life goes on and I will, too!
Sep 09, 2016

In order to solve this one, you had to have taken Chemistry in high school. Not really a good thing to assume everyone has. I only got the first one as that is the only one I knew. It is nice to know so many knew them and enjoyed them. I just do not happen to be one of them. So sorry!

simple yet fun
