Brain Teasers
A truck dilemma
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
A truck approaches a low railroad trestle and stops. The driver sees that his truck is one inch higher than the height of the underpass. This is the only road going to his destination. What can he do to get through the underpass?
Answer
He can let out enough air from his tires to allow him to pass through the underpass. Then on the other side of the underpass he can add air back into the tires.Hide Answer Show Answer

how could he drive if there was not enough air in his tires?
If it was a dirt road, he could dig a couple of wheel ruts 1 inch deep under the trestle.
If he had air suspension, he could also let out the air in the suspension. It may be difficult deleting air if you didn't have a pump.
this doesn't belong in the situation section. it should be in logic, or trivia, or possible science.
I remember reading this in a book when i was a liitle kid, good teaser, thanks
I'm assuming this guy must either have a compressor with him, or saw a station with one...otherwise it wouldn't be wise of him to let air out of his tires.
Wasn"t this story on the news before? yeah..i think so....
