"These are very strong accusations. Are you sure, Jorden?" the librarian asked.
"Yes, I'm positive. Yesterday, I saw Beth put one of these," Jorden held up a small envelope containing white powder, "between the X and Y volumes of the Encyclopedia. After she left, a big guy in a leather jacket came in and took the envelope out and put money in. Today, after Beth came, I intercepted the envelope."
"What do you have against Beth? You obviously want to get her in trouble."
How did the librarian know Jorden was lying?

Hint
When was the last time you looked at a set of encyclopedias?Answer
The X and Y volumes of the library's encyclopedia are together in one book, a common practice, therefore she couldn't have put anything between them.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

Whoa , I'm the first one!
That was good, but couldn't the envelope still be in between the X and Y , even if it was in the same book? But great Work!

Because it says volumes.
Great teaser! The hint kind of gave it away, though.
Who could possibly need the hint? It was a bit too easy and obvious. Enjoy reading these.
not bad
ha! i actually got the answer right

I got it after the hint...I didn't even think of that before. Nice teaser!
i got this right away! it was pretty easy but still fun!
I think it was pretty easy, but fun. A good teaser all around.
Yay! I finally got a teaser right. I don't get most of them, so this is a rare one.

Which Encyclopedia? Not all encyclopedias are the same. Some English ones do have 24, 25 or 26 volumes. And some have only two volumes.
That was one of the only ones I've ever figured out lol. The enclyopedias that I have the XYZ are together...
Cute!!!
I knew that!
that was good. the hint makes it really easy tho. but it's still good!
Not all encyclopedias have the same volme for X and Y!

Oh... I thought it was because Jorden was supposed to show the librarian the money instead of the white powder stuff since it was already taken by the big guy in leather jack. Does it mean that Beth put the envelope there again?
Woo I actually got one right!
A little too easy though, I got it without the hint.
Good though.

Well I got the wrong answer because when you read it here's what it says.
****Today, after Beth came, I intercepted the envelope." ******
Anyone notice that AFTER beth came into get the cash was when he tried to "intercept it"??

i am thinking the same thing as Mermaid500???
Read it again, ya'll. It's two seperate days. The first day, he watched the transaction. The second day, he got the envelope.

Having experience as a librarian myself, I would have been really embarrassed if I had gotten this one wrong. Glad I got it right! ^_^
yeah, the hint gave it away
i got it easily but good teaser
p.s. it's spelled y'all
p.s. it's spelled y'all
My answer was that, if Beth was guilty, shouldn't she have taken the envelope? How could he have taken it? But thats just because I didn't read the clue. =).
Good teaser. I was thinking what was the flaw, and then finally found it. I'd rate it but my account is still just one day old. Still very good teaer though
cool! very easy, though!
I have an encyclopedia set, and X and Y are seperate.
Yes!! finally got one rite!!
Ooh! Good one! I almost had to use the hint, but I finally got it! Really good job!! =)

i ddnt get it til i read the hint. but as soon as i read it, i got the answr right away....great teaser
I didn't get it.
In many or even most encyclopedias XYand Z are listed together as one book. However, you have been corrected, this would lead me to believe that in Medical Encyclopedias or Law Enc, the X, Y and Z are treated Separated.
This was a great teaser, and funny as ever, b/c in most Ency. those three letters are treated in the same book. Keep them Coming, Love.

A lot of people say the hint gave it away. I had no idea what it meant. And I rarely look at those kinds of books.
I was stumped, I thought it was was strange to pose the girl as a drug dealer. The clue kinda gave it away. great teaser
Not true. She could have hidden it in the book, between the two volumes. You can have more than one volume in a book...
No one's mentioned that Jorden is an idiot to make such a mistake.
