Brain Teasers
Lock Up and Escape
Group
These brain teasers rely on your ability to recognize groups of common attributes. For each of these puzzles you'll need to figure out why the words or letters are grouped as they are. Sometimes you will be asked to pick the odd-one-out or to place a new word into the correct group.Group
A man called Bob came back from work one day. He went into his house and when he went into the kitchen, the kitchen door suddenly closed and locked itself . There was no way out as there were no windows in the kitchen. He turned a light on and saw a bit of paper on the table. He read the instructions (rearrange these groups of creatures correctly) and got to work. Bob got stuck with 10 of the groups. This was what was left to do:
Colony of Birds
Horde of Spiders
Den of Wild Pigs
Clutter of Crows
Gang of Snakes
Volery of Elks
Doylt of Ferrets
Business of Swine
Hover of Gnats
Drift of Frogs
Can you rearrange these to match the correct groups?

Interesting... I didn't know any of these. I learned something new. A friend of mine, a well known bow hunter, publishes elk videos, but he calls a group of them a herd. ??
The story about being locked in the kitchen was rather odd and the note didn't even say he'd be released if he solved the match up.

I thought the collective noun for a group of crows was a murder...? fun anyways
^^ I thought it was a murder too.....
Anyway, I think it was pretty good. ^_^ I only knew about half of 'em.

there can be more than one for crows
I liked it, but it didn't say that if he released them then he would be set free to. Story was werid but the info was cool.
Good teaser. I also learned something from it. Thanks for posting.
Story line a bit random and silly - but I enjoyed the teaser. Now I'll search the Quizzes in case someone has written on this topic, and provided Explanations - derivations of these must be interesting.
