Famous Hurricanes
These brain teasers rely on your ability to recognize groups of common attributes. For each of these puzzles you'll need to figure out why the words or letters are grouped as they are. Sometimes you will be asked to pick the odd-one-out or to place a new word into the correct group.
The following are all famous hurricanes which people still remember years later. But which one of these famous hurricanes is different from all the rest?
Hurricane Betsy of 1965
Hurricane Agnes of 1972
Hurricane Bob of 1979
Hurricane Juan of 1985
Hurricane Andrew of 1992
Hurricane Fran of 1996
HintThe years are important, because the names are reused.

Answer
Bob of 1979. The other five are very destructive storms. Bob was a minor storm, but Bob is not remembered for what it did. Bob is remembered for being the first "himicane". Prior to 1979 all storms had female names.
The years are important because a storm name is reused six years later, unless it was a particularly destructive storm. Thus Bob of 1979 is also the only one on the list whose name was later reused (in 1985 and 1991).

Me too, Meganan. I do recall hearing that Bob was the first male name given to a hurricane so that must have been stuck in the back of my mind. Good bit of information, thanks for posting.

Took a guess and got it right, but the most wicked storms I remember were Dolly in 1954, and Gloria in the 80's. I got caught in both of them.

I got it right, but for the wrong reason. I picked it because it is the only one that doesn't have an even number in its year.

I picked Juan, the only non-American name. After I read the answer, I realized that I probably should have gotten it.
