Answer
A fall from grace."deus gratia" is the Latin expression for Grace (God's unmerited favor towards us and free gift of salvation in Christ).
a rapid descent: a fall
The expression is from the Bible, Galatians 5:4. 'Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.'

Very nice teaser. I liked it!
Thank you for your kind comments. I appreciate them.
Good one.
Not a bad teaser, a thinking one for sure, a Western perspective true and it may open a can or two of worms in today' s over sensitive world, but still worth the effort to solve.
this was interesting
I got it, I just wasn't sure why.. I thought "Gratia" meant "free" or something like that, similar to "gratis" in spanish.. plus I thought the "-" was a minus.
But the not-so-subtle Christian propaganda isn't appreciated at all.

Who said it was propaganda? It is fact.
fact?
with all due respect such a teaser could never be called fact
very clever but not factual

Actually, people use the expression a lot in everyday speech, so you can't even say it's purely a Christian saying anymore.
I got the 'fall' part, but was too lazy to look up the Latin. But I liked it!

Of course this teaser is based on facts. Firstly "fall from grace" is a common saying. Secondly the Muso has constructed his teaser by referring to a Latin description of a quality of God ascribed to him by the church. You don't have to agree with it but it's a fact that the Church uses this language to describe God. This is as much a fact as the part that indicates that a rapid descent is a fall. That is a fact but I don't have to actually fall over to see the truth in it. I think some of these commentators are so paranoid about Christianity that they feel threatened at its mere mention. Go Muso!
Very nice .
