A Meter Reading?
These brain teasers rely on your ability to recognize groups of common attributes. For each of these puzzles you'll need to figure out why the words or letters are grouped as they are. Sometimes you will be asked to pick the odd-one-out or to place a new word into the correct group.
Your task is to decide which word does not belong in the following group.
accelerometer
rheometer
anemometer
seismometer
tachometer
speedometer
Answer
'Seismometer' is the odd word out, since it is used for measuring the direction, duration, and force of earthquakes and like concussions.
The other words are all instruments used to measure speed.

| Tough one. I got the correct answer for the wrong reason. I thought seismometer was either spelled wrong or there was no such word! |

| Sorry Kahlan, but I have to disagree with you.
Tachometer: An Instrument to indicate rotational speed, usually calibrated in RPM (revolutions per minute); an instrument for measuring speed or units.
...or more to the point: A tachometer is a device used for measuring the speed of a moving body or substance (from Greek: tachos = speed, metron = measure).
