I'm called by three letters
Though I have a long name.
I'm in all of you,
But I'm never the same.

I'm all coiled up
So that I am quite small,
But if you stretch me out
I'll be really tall.

I could be the root
Of certain disease;
If man can unlock me
He'll solve many mysteries.

I actually thought of that answer when I was reading the title (just completely randomly thought of it)! I like it, it really is put together and worded well. Great job!

Well written, but I got it from the "ladder" and "3 letters". I was just talking about DNA last night though...

I also go it immediately, but really enjoyed reading about DNA. Never knew the facts about it until now, just knew that it works. Thanks so much for posting.

I couldn't get "the alphabet" out of my head as the answer.
I'm called by three letters
Though I have a long name. (ABC's / alphabet).
I'm in all of you,
But I'm never the same. (different names spelled differently – I admit the "never" makes it not quite right.)
If man can unlock me
He'll solve many mysteries. (through language and vocabulary)

I loved the long answer. If it was easy who cares, because it was really fun and worded well. Nice job bookworm!

I guessed 'gut' too. I feel a bit guilty about not getting it because I've been studying for a biology test.

My DNA is to keep commenting about the teasers. I want to thank all of you wonderful people that asked me to stay on this site. Your overwhelming confidence was greatly appreciated. And a special to all my great friends.

I didn't get it until I read the hint then it was quit obvious
. One point however - not everyone's DNA is different: identical twins/triplets etc have the same DNA.

Sometimes they just seem too easy. This is one of those. I got it by as I was reading it. Good poem.

Too easy. Well written, but too easy.

Very, VERY easy (title and 2 lines) but also well-written. Great info for middle-schoolers first learning this stuff (except for the part about 'never the same'; identical twins come from the same fertilized egg and therefore share the same genetic material!) (My students know science is my worst subject area, but I do know THAT much!!)

i figured it out by the 5th line("I'm all coiled up")
extremely easy
fun however
