Don't Get Up
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.
A woman is reading a newspaper alone. She hears the phone in the room next to the one she is in. Although she knows that the call is probably important, she does not bother to answer it. Why not?
Answer
The woman lives in an apartment building. She hears the phone ringing in the adjacent apartment. She knows that her neighbor, who is a brain surgeon, is out and the phone call is probably important.

| I thought the TV was in the other room, and the call was for the person on the TV show. Anyway, your answer works better. |
