Poor George
Mystery teasers are little stories where you need to figure out what happened based on the given clues.
George is dead. He was found face down in the street, squashed nearly flat. He must have been there some time as he was cool to the touch. In addition, when he was found, there was a bird perched on the back of his head.
Who is George?
HintI cannot tell a lie...the person who discovered George was happy to find him.

Answer
The George in question is George Washington, specifically the picture of Washington on the quarter. He was, in fact, dead when he was found. As he is on a coin, he would be nearly flat, and cool to the touch. Finally, when you turn the quarter over, on the "back of the head" you will find a perching eagle.

| Doesn't make sense. The question states clearly "He" was found face down in the street. Yet the answer states it was not infact George who was in the street, only a pictoral representation of him. |

| I didn't really agree with some of the wording in this teaser... sorry. I didn't like the wording "squashed" because a quarter is made that shape-- it isn't found squashed.
I also didn't like the implication that the quarter cooled as it sat there because a quarter doesn't lose heat. It would reflect the outside temperature.
Not trying to be a fuddy duddy...
I always appreciate the effort it takes to make a teaser!

| This is a good teaser. Now, I shall tell the Truth. Who would ever be expected to Guess George Washington? Some type of "Road Kill," like a Possum, Rabbit or Squirrel would have had a more profound effect, but George Washington flat as a pancake b/c he is on a coin? Real Funny. Keep them Coming. Great Teaser for those in the NO way. |

| I thought Curious George was perhaps a bit too curious and now birds were pickin' at his brains. I didn't give myself any time to solve this and so I didn't get it. BTW, coins ARE squashed flat when they're made, aren't they? Good One. |
