Cur no more the name for a dog as "mongrel" would be.

A good puzzle. I missed "ewe," though.

I got the first one, but that was it. The rest of the animals were a little uncommon. Good job.

Ewe took a few seconds more but the others struck me pretty fast! As a crossword fan, I like this type of teasers. Thanks.

Does it bother anyone else that the introduction to this kind of puzzle always reads "Language brain teaser are those that" etc.? Over the years, you'd think the web site managers could have made "teaser" plural to agree with the verb "are". (Can you tell I once taught English?)

Good but easy

Dec 26, 2007

Very easy.

I got 1, 3, and 4. Don't know what a cur is though.

Totally agree with 4princesses. Does anyone know, is cur the name of an animal? Other than that, pretty good teaser.

Dec 26, 2007

A cur is usually meant to represent a crummy dog. Dirty, unkempt, or lowlife dog would be the meaning we use around here. I wouldn't consider it the name of an animal, just a descriptive word. Sorry.

I agree that cur may be a little off base here. Still extremely easy. 3

Avonma I missed YOU TOO!

Actually I got them all, that's a
joke

Good Teaser, I wasn't sure if
cur had two r's or not. But got the
word. Drinkin' a Starbucks now.
Brain should rev up in a mo'.

Thanks for sending in, enjoyed it.

TO CRANIAC. YES!! IT DOES!!
BUG ME TOO!! And - what ever
happened to the adverb.

I DID GOOD??? I always thought
it was... I did well.

Oh well, it would be good to pluralize the word Teaser in this
instance. Should I write Braingle
for you??

Even though alittle on the simple side, it was very good. I think that we could all use a easy on the day after the holidays anyway

Good teaser! I got stuck on EWE. "Cur" is a little too general a word for this I think.

My favorite aunt was/is an English teacher, so the good/well thing bothers me too. Liked it. Didn't get all of them, but liked it once I read the answer.

Dec 26, 2007

great teaser... got them all with ease... though i agree "cur" is not the exact name for the animal it represents... fun and easy

and to craniac and rose:
the site managers have read your criticisms and corrected the errors... i for one never noticed and went to see for myself, and found it to stand corrected... it should be brought to someones attention when there are errors, no matter how minute or trivial they may be... it just shows you're human

Dec 26, 2007

cool teaser, bt wuts a cur?
kashbyAus*
Dec 26, 2007

o, i just read the previous comments... now i know wut a cur is.

Dec 27, 2007

The funny thing was, the "animal" clue was neither necessary nor helpful. Gee.

So, I got them...

spent about a minute deciding that "cur" couldn't be a possibility, because it's not actually an animal, and guess what?
cinivon
Dec 26, 2010

I got it, but would not call a "cur" a proper animal name
MysteriousLighttus*
Dec 26, 2010

I like 1, 3, and 4, but based on the meaning of cur, I don't think dog lovers (most prob. not including me) would like this teaser.
Other than that, 5 out of 5 stars!!!
phyllisa*us*
Dec 27, 2010

Good one.

Sep 21, 2013

I got "cur" even though I didn't/don't know what it means. But I didn't get "ewe." I cheated and used a Spanish word xD. "ave," "bravery"
catmom*us*
Dec 26, 2013

Easy, I got them all. I only got 'cur' because that seemed to be the only thing that fit. Now for some more nog and fruitcake.
