Brain Teasers
Flowery Words Speak I
Riddle
Riddles are little poems or phrases that pose a question that needs answering. Riddles frequently rhyme, but this is not a requirement.Riddle
With potent, flowery words speak I,
Of something common, vulgar, dry;
I weave webs of pedantic prose,
In effort to befuddle those,
Who think I wile time away,
In lofty things, above all day
The common kind that linger where
Monadic beings live and fare;
Practical I may not be,
But life, it seems, is full of me.
Of something common, vulgar, dry;
I weave webs of pedantic prose,
In effort to befuddle those,
Who think I wile time away,
In lofty things, above all day
The common kind that linger where
Monadic beings live and fare;
Practical I may not be,
But life, it seems, is full of me.

Well, I thought it was cleverly put and very good. As one poet to another, your verse was very, very lovely and worded so very fine. Good work!
Well written. I was completely lost on this one. But it is nice to see new material.
Wow. I am really glad they made this the Teaser of the Day. I may have missed it otherwise. Brilliant. Really well written. I really had to study it to get the answer. I'm going to go find all of your other teasers now.
I didn't have a clue! I was thinking along the line of gossip, or our thoughts, or instructions. Your poem is very elegant and flowery itself. Kind of reminds me of Shakespeare.
Though I found the answer almost immediately, I think that this was very fun.
Fun and entertaining teaser; I was completely fooled by this well written teaser. I would never have thought of riddle for the answer.
My first guess was hope. Painting unlikely or mundane things in a positive light. But then the line about "befuddling" came around... and I finally arrived at "this brain teaser" Very clever!
