What a Creature
Trick brain teasers appear difficult at first, but they have a trick that makes them really easy.
What is a living creature that has four legs, eats cat food, and sees equally well on both ends of its body?

| Very simple, I got it right after reading the question. No, It couldn't be a normal cat because, at least I am assuming, it means that the cat can see equally well on both the outside and inside of it's body. Therefore only a blind cat would not be able to see at all on both of those "sides". |

| he means both sides i.e. left and right, & a blind cat can see neither, so geddit? but it could also be a chameleon, u know, and i assume that since my chameleon eats dog food, it wud prolly eat cat food as well, and it CAN, btw, look left & right at the same time cuz of the positioning of it's eye. |

| "sides" needs to be defined in advance in order to reach that specific conclusion. If we are referring to a sphere, please tell me how you would define a "side". |

| Good teaser!
Sides refer to the frontside and the backside, so it couldn't be a normal cat because none has eyes on the back of it head of on its backside, lol! |

| As it never states what the ends are, left/right is as equally valid an assumption as front/back. If you choose left/right for your ends, a normal sighted cat sufficiently answers the question as well as a blind one. However, a blind cat will cover all presumed 'ends' and thus so, is the best answer.
Good teaser! |

| Awwh, this reminds me of my poor blind, long-departed kitty!
But the teaser was maybe too obvious, but then again, I can't think of how it could have been written as a better trick. |

| HaHaHa! That was tricky. I got the cat part. The blind part was hard. A blind cat can not see anything equally on the cat's body. Which makes a blind cat. |

| Come on . . .
"Sees equally well" implies sight and then the answer is a cat who can't see?
The answer should be a cat that turns its head to the side; it can see both in front and behind at the same time. |

Blind cats don't see. But over all consideration, this was about as stupid as they come. If I stepped on the writers toes I'm sorry, because they needed stomped on. |

| That was funny! I thought it was a regular cat, cause it has a left eye and a right eye, and each I sees equally well? |

| It says both "ends" of it's body---not "sides". To me it is quite clear what that means.
It sees equally well, which in this case is "not at all".
I can't understand what all the fuss is about. Why spend so much time and waste space picking apart the teasers?
I thought is was a good riddle, even though I don't like the concept of a blind cat. |

I can't believe I didn't get it!

| First let me join the list of people who didn't like this teaser.
IT could have been any number of animals. As someone else stated his chameleon eats cat food as does my dog.
"sees equally well out of both ends of its body" to me that would mean the front end and the back end (head and rear).
And on a final note - "Blind' does not mean having no sight at all. There are degrees of blindness in humans (I should know, I am considered legally blind but can see well enough to get around on my own without a cane or dog but not well enough to read or drive). This is also true for animals. A blind cat may still be able to see a few feet, or see shadows or the outline of objects. Ergo, no he cannot see equally well from both ends (regardless of what ends we are discussing) as one does not see at all and the other could potentially see something (albeit not much).
Not a good teaser at all. |

| Some people are "blind" to the concept that this is a "trick" teaser. And even though I have several cats, and love them all enough to volunteer for a cat rescue, I enjoyed your teaser. We need humor (even occasional "black humor") to maintain our sanity! Thanks for submitting! |

Good teaser. |

| Well said, @thecatlady! And what's gross about a blind cat anyway? It's not like it had its eyes poked out for the sake of the teaser. Lighten up people. |
