Boudreaux, a master dartsman, was bragging to his bar mates that he was such a consummate player, he could hit the dartboard in any location at will.

"I'll wager a hundred dollars that, no matter what position you name on the board, I'll be able to hit it."

Thibedeaux, tired of Boudreaux's windbaggery, shouted out an answer.

Boudreaux stammered for a few moments and at first refused to pay. The other bar patrons, however, made sure he held up his end of the wager. Boudreaux slammed a hundred dollar bill on the counter and stormed out.

Where on the dartboard did Thibedeaux suggest?

Mar 29, 2008

LOL! I laughed when i saw the answer! Good teaser! Keep it up!
Mar 29, 2008

Apr 01, 2008

Haha! thatw as a good one!
Apr 11, 2008

Good one!
If he threw it really really really really really hard and completely impaled the board with the dart, would it count as hitting the back? >.>

Apr 12, 2008

lol so trickey ill get you back someday..
Apr 22, 2008

Cute! I got it right away
Apr 22, 2008

Easy, but cute...although I don't think that was very sportsmanlike of Thibedeaux.
Apr 22, 2008

good one - got it straight away - unusually
Apr 22, 2008

It is said that this site is for all ages.Well that teaser is definitely for the very young.
Apr 22, 2008

Well, since this site is for all ages, its probably good that there are a few easy teasers for those very young people.
Apr 22, 2008

Totally agree. And some of us oldsters need an easy one now and again. Thanks for posting.
Apr 22, 2008

Easy, yes, but fun and creative anyway.
Apr 22, 2008

Fun. Thanks.
Apr 22, 2008

A good laugh! Thanks muchly
Apr 22, 2008

This was great! I laughed pretty hard after i figured it out thanks for the gut buster
Apr 22, 2008

Very easy, very silly, but the kids will love it.
Apr 22, 2008

very easy.
Apr 22, 2008

Lol, I guessed the metal wire separating the different sections of the board. That's what I would've said
Apr 22, 2008

EZ But couldn't he've simply turned the dartboard over? Ah well... nice job.
Apr 22, 2008

It is one of those electronic ones, so turning the machine around wouldn't technically be the back of the board.
Apr 22, 2008

WOW that was easy but fun
Apr 26, 2008

well sadly doehead not all of us can be as clever as you
Apr 27, 2008

cool! got it
May 01, 2008

This is a REALLY good one! I still got it, but it was clever! 10/10

Cheers for my first post!
May 03, 2008

Nice one!
Jul 15, 2008

Awesome, I got this one too.
Sep 08, 2008

Wow, that's clever. For some reason my mind didn't picture that as part of the board.
Sep 17, 2008

I liked it well enough, but would contend that you have mistold the riddle. Position is not precisely the same thing as part. In the original, the bettor closes the doors of the cabinet and "Okay! Hit it in its current position."
Nov 12, 2008

Woohoo! I got it right! Nice one!
May 18, 2009

Oct 26, 2009

Couldn't he have just turned the board around and then throw a dart?
Feb 18, 2010

I got it, but I agree with Plutoking.
Apr 22, 2011

Are there no challenging ones anymore? This was a ho hummer! Sorry!
Apr 22, 2011

It was easy, but still a great teaser. I agree with the above posters that there need to be some easier ones for the younger kids (don't want to discourage them by making them all too hard). Though I got it right away, I know a few ppl who may not have. Clever.
Apr 22, 2011

I don't often even have a guess for riddles, so I was perfectly happy to hit one (no pun intended) an easy one that I could (as a European above said) answer 'straightaway'. Thanks!.
Apr 22, 2011

Delete ONE before 'no pun'.
Apr 22, 2011

Don't know why he would stammer - just throw the dart hard - if it goes all the way through the cork he's hit the back and walks with the cash.
Nov 18, 2011

the 100 dollars slams SO hard that it makes the whole building fall down
Apr 22, 2014

YEA !!!!!!

First to comment in 2014 !!!!

And I truly appreciate the continuance of Teaser-Of-The-Day for the "veteran" contributions to this site.

And to those of you who object to this, then the solution is simple:

01. Contribute some teasers of your own.

02. Recruit some new members to Braingle.

For without 01 and 02 above, Braingle will soon not continue to exist.

And that would be the most tragic event of all.

Apr 22, 2014

Good one!
Apr 22, 2014

nice and easy..I actually guessed 'the side of the dartboard'
Apr 22, 2014

Very easy. I finally got one! Yahoo!
Apr 22, 2014

Yes, this may have been an easy one but I liked it a lot!! I also love the comments! Good advice, BB02!
Apr 22, 2014

Cute and funny.
Apr 22, 2017

Now that I am older I look for flaws and this has a definite flaw. Only one side can be a dart board and that is where the target lies. To turn it over the target disappears an it is just a board. So he could have won the bet by challenging exactly what a dart board has on it. One side is a dart board the other is not. it is just the back with nothing on it.
Apr 22, 2017

Another fun and easy teaser.
Apr 24, 2017

That was wicked amusing!
