Darts, Pt II
Trick brain teasers appear difficult at first, but they have a trick that makes them really easy.
Boudreaux, a master dartsman, was bragging to his bar mates that he was such a consummate player, he could hit the dartboard in any location at will.
"I'll wager a hundred dollars that, no matter what position you name on the board, I'll be able to hit it."
Thibedeaux, tired of Boudreaux's windbaggery, shouted out an answer.
Boudreaux stammered for a few moments and at first refused to pay. The other bar patrons, however, made sure he held up his end of the wager. Boudreaux slammed a hundred dollar bill on the counter and stormed out.
Where on the dartboard did Thibedeaux suggest?
Answer
The back of the board.

| Good one!
If he threw it really really really really really hard and completely impaled the board with the dart, would it count as hitting the back? >.> |

Well, since this site is for all ages, its probably good that there are a few easy teasers for those very young people.

EZ But couldn't he've simply turned the dartboard over? Ah well... nice job.

It is one of those electronic ones, so turning the machine around wouldn't technically be the back of the board.

Wow, that's clever. For some reason my mind didn't picture that as part of the board.

I liked it well enough, but would contend that you have mistold the riddle. Position is not precisely the same thing as part. In the original, the bettor closes the doors of the cabinet and "Okay! Hit it in its current position."

It was easy, but still a great teaser. I agree with the above posters that there need to be some easier ones for the younger kids (don't want to discourage them by making them all too hard). Though I got it right away, I know a few ppl who may not have. Clever.

I don't often even have a guess for riddles, so I was perfectly happy to hit one (no pun intended) an easy one that I could (as a European above said) answer 'straightaway'. Thanks!.

Don't know why he would stammer - just throw the dart hard - if it goes all the way through the cork he's hit the back and walks with the cash.
