| Bah, I hate being reminded of how bad I am at rebuses. I kept trying to read it literally, saying things like: "Oh-blank-er-blank-tee-blank-oh-blank."
I'm almost ashamed at how I didn't think of how the blanks could represent missing letters, and I'm even sure I've seen other rebuses where missing letters spelled something. But I hadn't seen this one.
I guess I had it stuck in my head that "I'm no good at these," thus proving true the famous saying: "Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're probably right."

Just a future tip, it's a good idea to explain the answer when you give it for those that just don't get it. Though it seemed PAINfully obvious to me, there seems to have been quite a few people in need of an explanation. I guess if you're not at all familiar with solving a rebus, it wouldn't make a lot of sense.

I don't think that that is a very responsible way to handle the situation. First off, you are trying to pass of responsibility to everyone else for your remarks. By saying you're leaving it up to a vote, where anyone who votes for you to leave ends up potentially looking like a jerk for doing so, pretty much guarantees the vote will go in favor of you. Then, once you have won the vote to stay, you can claim 'community approval' for acting in a rude manner.
I say that you make the decision yourself on whether you stay or leave and deal with the consequences that come with that decision. If your comments are not bad enough to be deleted by moderators, then you have the right to make them, but you must also be prepared for the reactions they may bring. |
