| The word "down" is interspersed thoughout the words "the ages" . Therefore, "down through the ages", meaning "throughout history." It's difficult to read because it treats "the ages" as one word, omitting the space, thus - "theages." It would be more comprehensible if it were written "tdheo awgens", but that would cause other problems. Perhaps if you look at it like this - tDheOaWgeNs or TdHEoAwGEnS, "down through the ages" becomes more readable. Interesting rebus,anyway.  |
