Find all ten words described below.

-------------------

The first word you'll need
is a tool used to snare.
Reverse and add one:
a dwelling filled with fresh air.

Append the letter H
to find a metric sort of part.
Now change N to E to get
a smile, at its heart.

Tack on an 'I N G'
to make a baby's cross to bear.
Remove the center two
and find a golfer's action there.

Add an S and drop the E's:
A painful bite you'll see.
Add one to the end: you will make
penny-pinching, miserly.

Put first 2 and last 2 out the door,
What's left is really cool.
Only keep the first half of that
And now you find the fool.

Answer

NET (a tool used to snare)
TENT (a dwelling filled with fresh air)
TENTH (a metric sort of part)
TEETH (a smile, at its heart)
TEETHING (what a baby suffers from -- its "cross to bear")
TEEING (a golfer's action)
STING (A painful bite)
STINGY (penny-pinching, miserly)
IN (really cool -- i.e. the "in" thing)
I (I am the fool, after all. Or does it refer to you? :D )

Fun teaser As long as you get the first word, the rest flows pretty easily. Nicely done!

Good teaser, had to look at first word in answer to get going. Also a sting isn't a bite, that clue is VERY misleading.

I didn't enjoy being called a fool, but up until then I'd enjoyed it a LOT! Zipped through it easily, as you can tell by my moniker.

Nice - loved this one! I kept trying to get it from the other words, because I couldn't get the first word at first, but I couldn't figure it out. Once you get that first word, though, everything is very easy.

Really enjoyed this one. Fairly easy once you got going, but unlike a lot of word puzzles, if you don't figure out the first word you likely won't solve it.
Took a minute or two to do, but was quite solvable if you put in the time.
Though, not sure I like being called a fool (though from the moment I read through the puzzle, I sort of knew that last word would be either "I" or "me".

Guessed tent for the first, but not all tents are filled with air considered "fresh." Fun though.

I scanned the clues and decided to start in the middle with teething. After that it went fairly quickly. Loved it.
