solidgordy Oct 09, 2005	I thought of other answers also, but none of them really work, money, you don't throw it away when you need it, an insult i thought was close, also, a resolution, likee if you need to smoke you throw out your resolve, if you don't need to you take it back! I also thought of a fishing line, which was pretty close too, i think. But, I think the reason anchor is the best answer is becuse of what i saw someone else, only one person here, thought of, and that's AWEIGH! ANCHORS AWEIGH! THAT'S the reason that anchor is the only really good answer.

We never take the advice we need. The teaser was very good. I only give a teaser two, to three guesses anyway. It was greatttttt.

bbbz Oct 09, 2008	the phrase "throw it away" seems a little clumsy after you see the answer. you "drop anchor", common term when using one, admittedly into the water. I guess one could think of it as throwing it away from you or the boat and then into the water. still, not a bad teaser.

eamon Oct 09, 2011	What, when you need it you throw it away, but when you don't need it you take it back? Clumsy and misleading as one does NOT throw an anchor AWAY. The term "anchor's aweigh" is a report that the anchor is clear of the sea bed and the boat/ship can get moving. To weigh or hoist or lift the anchor means it's being retrieved onto the vessel. The opposite of what's seemingly suggested above. Might one suggest: When you need me, you throw me out. When you no longer need me, you take me back in. What am I. Still retains the fun without misinformation. Thanks.
