Mishap is the misfit.

The other six words, and the three in the title, all contain the 'sh' sound - which is spelled in nine different ways!

Ironically, the word which does contain -sh- is not pronounced 'sh'!

'Schedule' would count as another spelling of the same sound, depending on which side of the Atlantic you studied!

HABS2933 Dec 27, 2012	I too got it as I was reading the words aloud as I went. Not sure I would have without that. English is very strange with the various ways certain letter combinations work together to make certain sounds. Using legitimate English letter groupings you could spell FISH as ghoti gh as in touGH o as in wOmen ti as in naTIon Other languages also have these irresistible but not so many I don't think.
