There is a special auditorium that holds 100 people. It is not full. Each person claps seven times after a performance. Every time ten claps are heard, the man in the front twitches. Every third twitch, one of the actors hops. Every two hops, a person in the crowd cheers. Every four cheers, the actors bow. If they only bowed once, what is the least amount of people that can be in the auditorium?

BONUS! How many bows will the actors do if the auditorium is full?

dalfamnest May 27, 2011	I suggest that the answer is given is incorrect, and that this is actually a much more tricky question! 33 people = 231 claps ... thus 23 twitches ... and seven hops ... making three cheers ... and we are still waiting for the first bow! This will be an very good teaser when it is corrected!
dalfamnest May 27, 2011	Oops - forget most of that ... the error is in your final calculation! 240/7 = 34.28, so the answer is 35. Not so difficult, as long as people remember to round UP instead of to the nearest whole number. I good question for the classroom - thanks!

cwjakesteel Jun 22, 2011	@Kronos It's too easy to be put under math. It's more logic because you have to think about how you have to come up with the answer. It was easy, but fun. The correct answer is indeed 35.
